I do find it strange that people are willing to part with so much money for something that is being reportedly discontinued because the manufacturer cannot source a new screen. What happens if the screen goes on the synth you just layed out over £1k on? If TE can't source any then I bet you won't ei...

The few pieces of equipment I have kept hold of. Those synths and my ears seem to be made for one another.

If it were my money I would be looking at a Behringer Neutron and a Make Noise 0-Coast. This covers a lot of ground regarding sound design and offers lots of ways to experiment. Both take MIDI, so sequencing them with your existing system should be a breeze. Together they offer LFO's, envelopes a fi...

Interesting that your envelopes do not click as those on my OB6 definitely do. I'm also surprised that your resonance kicks in much quicker on the OB6 as the resonance is pretty mild on mine, I can barely notice it until the knob is at 12 - I don't tend to use much resonance so I had to get it out t...

Sold mine. I liked the sequencer and it sounded pretty decent, all in all its pretty versatile. However I just didn't get on with the UI as far as the menus were concerned. Would I buy it again, maybe if I saw one for a good price or if they introduced an easier way to chop samples.

I've had the Live for about a month and had no crashes. Currently I am more than happy with the purchase. I swapped from a Digitakt to this and it has been just as easy to use, possibly a little more immediate. The pads feel nice, the touch screen is ok (obviously a larger screen live the X would be...

Its possible to create multisample instruments in Ableton, it looks like the same is possible in Reaper as well, so it's worth starting there if you already have those.

A few that have not yet been mentioned are: The Roland V-Synth - I've heard some insane stuff come out of this keyboard. The Bastl Microgranny - It offers a different perspective on sample mangling in a small package however, the functionality is not as extensive as some. Personally, I would get a D...

Take them out of your rack, see how you get on for a few months if you don't miss them then sell them. Only you know what fits your workflow.

If you want to learn, just get your hands on one and learn. Practice is the key, but an oscilloscope can help cement the understanding. Have a play around with the free VCV rack software to get an idea. For me, there is nothing like the real thing though. I started out with a Kaosillator, I wanted m...

A good random voltage generator can help reduce the repetitiveness. LFO's, attenuators, attenuverters and VCA's will all help inject some interest into a repetitive patch. The 0-Coast is a good call as you could use it as a utility module for the DFAM (or vice versa). Then you can work out what you ...

Yep, its all totally personal choice as is your musical taste and direction. All I can say is follow your own path. If you like the sound of something use it regardless of what it is. If you don't like anything then get you designing hat on and make something inspiring. This is the reason I like mod...
