Re: Must have Doepfer Modules...
The oldest modules I have are doepfer modules, most of which are from 2007.

Re: Arturia Keystep pro
...I literally reported on this a few pages back. It was prior to the current firmware, but I did try it out and talk about it.

Re: de-bloating windows 10
Note that you did not answer my question. ...I just did? Do you want me to give specifics as to why the likes of built in microsoft apps running in the background that you'll barely use is non-essential? Really?!? Here is an example - why would you need an OS to load an extension to facilitate WiFi...

Re: de-bloating windows 10
> there is no harm in doing it How do you know this? Because it removes and changes non-essential parts of the OS that just waste space and CPU cycles? It's not rocket science. I've been doing this ever since I got into music production, which is the better part of what... 22 years? People should d...

Re: de-bloating windows 10
TLDR; have a good computer, audio interface with good drivers, and don't touch things you don't understand. I've already done the above a while ago - there is no harm in doing it and you do get a performance boost, along with more space. ;) In fact, any general wisdom I've seen since the pas...

Re: de-bloating windows 10
If you want to make computing fun again and take back control of your digital lives, I recommend at least partially switching to Linux. As someone who does run Linux in a dual boot environment, it's not ideal for music production at the moment. A lot of hardware are simply not supported or have cra...

I like mine. Have it for nearly 2 years now and never really had any issue with it. Sounds pretty much like a minimoog.

Re: Nerdsynth NerdSEQ - eurorack tracker/sampler
Nice if they actually included CV capabilities to the Polyend Tracker. Kind of makes it a paperweight in its current state in my eyes.

Re: Nerdsynth NerdSEQ - eurorack tracker/sampler
Small things like controller configuration, change in gate behaviour (if you want to use s-strig), launchpad integration isn't complete, recording improvements still need to be done, automation section isn't fully complete, pattern merge ability isn't implemented, some sample effects not implemented...

Re: Nerdsynth NerdSEQ - eurorack tracker/sampler
The firmware is technically unfinished. There are features planned from day 1 that are not implemented yet. Not a massive issue since 99% of it is there now, along with extra features that no one has expected. I don't blame Thomas for this, he is only one guy and at least he's consistent in his deve...

Re: Nerdsynth NerdSEQ - eurorack tracker/sampler
The sequencer isn't hard to grasp - you can do the basics pretty quickly if you poke around without a manual. It can do a lot of complex stuff if you dig deep, but overall it's pretty intuitive. Key combos are short and make sense, very little memorisation needed. In other words, if I leave it alone...

Syncs fine with my USAMO - if you want an ultra stable MIDI clock from your PC, that's one good option.

Re: Arturia Keystep pro
So didn‘t they manage to get rid off the bugs? Solving the first note not recorded issue and stabilizing USB Midi would be a very welcomed first update, wouldn’t it? I don't understand what point you're trying to get at here. Obviously I implied the clock was stable prior to the current patch. I ha...

Re: Arturia Keystep pro
It crashes because FL Studio doesn't like to be slaved unlike most other DAWs. Having the two MIDI outs set to do seperate things would be a nice fix, but have to wait for the upcoming patch, which should be soon apparently.

Re: Large components = fat sound?
Ergonomics is one thing that is demonstrably better on 5U. Inherent audio quality advantage? Ehhh... Too many idiots with golden ears out there. If it sounds "fat", it's more down to the choice of components and circuit design. 5U modules tend to emphasise on cloning vintage moog modulars, so natura...
