Re: Looping Sine Wave on Morphagene - Thump at Loop Point

Just for the record: A response from Make Noise confirms it is not feasible to load seamless loops on the Morphagene and have them playback as they would on a DAW because the inbuilt crossfader is not defeatable. Wonder if an option to enable/disable the crossfader could be a possibility in a futur...

Re: MN TEMPI ignores machine programming commands

here is video demonstrating the tempi behaviour. hope it is clear now. as you can see in the video, the state led changes from green or red to blue while i still holding one of the pgm buttons- hence the programming is ignored at this point. it happens @ 00:06 @ 00:30 @ 00:55 @ 01:00 @ 01:06 @ 01:1...

Re: MN TEMPI ignores machine programming commands

luketeaford understood your question much better than I did, and yes it is indeed expected behavior. When you are in the mute "sub-menu" (pgm-a lit), then the button functions are dedicated to that menu, and you have to exit to go back to the programming page. I would indeed be for having the machin...

I would suggest getting in contact with Make Noise, as this does not sound like a user error to me.
EDIT my misunderstanding. Working as expected.

As a long time Tempi user, I've never encountered this. Just to be certain I understand, in your "b)" scenario, the division/multiplication happens before you let go of the pgm button?

Re: Flaunt your non-sequencer modular!

How many of you also rule out sequencing in your racks or music compositions? thanks in advance! To answer your question, I believe that most people would not "rule out" a sequencer once they have a broader perspective of what a sequencer can do. If during a drone you have a point in time that you ...

Re: Flaunt your non-sequencer modular!

I'm planning a 9U 84hp system, mainly Doepfer, for drones and experimental soundscape creation. It would be mostly having vcos, filters, wavefolding and mixers at its core, but definitely no sequencer, either onboard or external. How many of you also rule out sequencing in your racks or music compo...

Dare I say that if you have a couple of VCAs and a couple of Oscillators, you have all the variable waveshapes you will ever need.

Re: Starting out with modular. Am I missing anything?

I would definitely look into getting some basic utilities that do attenuversion and offsets. I'll always suggest the 4ms SISM as it's extremely useful in all regards, and the manual is a great read if you're just getting into modular (see link below). Although all the suggestions above are good, I t...

Re: Sequencer for live improvisations with long sequences (64 steps and more) for 2020

I would take a long hard look at the Frap Tool's USTA. It was the first sequencer I've purchased where a tune could pop into my head, and I would have no obstacles reproducing it. Very hands on and well suited with options relevant to improvisation.

Purest sine in my rack comes out of my ripples filter.
The sine from my DPO is almost the same as the triangle
I would have to say that your DPO is buggy. I can provide you with some scope pics of my sine/triangle on my DPO and they are quite solid.

Re: 4ms Spherical Wavetable Navigator SWN

One thing that would be so wicked would be to have the ability to capture a wavetable and assign that as the waveforms for the LFO to browse through. I use much less the complex LFO waveforms in the SWN but always wished I could add more evelopes that are more variations on their curvature rather th...

Re: Odessa vs SWN - Chords & Chordal Harmonies

As stated above, the SWN shines so much more when you are working with your own wavetables, but I think there is also a pre-determined approach that is expected with the stock wavetables that isn't quite obvious. Case in point; One of the stock wavetables is Cello samples. I had the module for over ...

Re: SSF Ultra Random Sample and Hold weird lag

You forgot the "A" in the URA, and that is most likely the factor of this lag as it's an analog S&H. What I think you're experiencing is what is called Droop. Check out this Scan and read up on III-76 (fourth page)

The SWN Has a mode introduced in a later firmware that allows it to work as 6 completely individual/independent oscillators, but there is only a total of 2 outputs on the module.

Yeah would really love to at least hear from Mordax to know if this is still in the works or if it had been put on the shelf indeterminately. Re: Main sequencer for recording and editing CV: NerdSEQ, Toolbox, others, none?

Regarding the Hermod; I had one for a couple of months. It is an excellent MIDI/CV converter and excellent for recording MIDI/CV. With that said, as a sequencer for creating and editing in the box, it's the worst interface that I have encountered so far in Eurorack. The pianoroll-style interface loo...

Re: Advice with first rack appriciated.

Rack looks good! A joranalogue based system should be plenty of fun and creativity for a very long time. One thing to note is that the Expert Sleeper Modules will have to be next to each other and there's a cable that connects the 2 together. If you're really set in stone on the placement, maybe the...

Re: New 2018 MakeNoise Rene

I would say it is more "deep" than "complicated." It is very easy to get started with the basics, there is no "gotcha", and it only takes a few minutes to get a single channel with 16 steps going. But then there is a whole lot more to explore when needed. Took the words right out of my mouth. It's ...
