Re: Why is there no noise source in the easel?

My guess is that portable/keyboard based synthesizers was a new concept and there were no standards at the time, so noise just didn't make the cut. Don had made the 410 Module Cluster and the 212 Dodeca module which both had noise, but were missing oscillators and a sequencer. When comparing the Min...

Re: MARF 248 clones - any Output expanders coming?

1000% this. The steps expander never made much sense to me without also expanding the output sections. Thinking about all the possibilities that would come with another 4 output sections is mind numbing. I'd love the opportunity to compose with that kind of setup, and I hope someone takes on the cha...

So got one of these and put it in my 200e system, much fun. But then I used it with 208c/ Tokyo 158 card. WAY COOL....Talked with Doug cuz this only pulls + voltage, wanted to daisy chain off the power supply. No go, the voltage ref wanted to see 15V. Soooo a 12 to 15V converter buck and a small bo...

Re: MARF / 248 external clocking issue

What do you have the MARF's Time Range and Time Multiplier set to? Those settings will still have an affect on the timing even when you're clocking it externally, so I suggest turning the time multiplier all the way to the left ".5" and have the Time Range of each step set to ".002."

Re: 288V Explanation?

I loved playing with that module at EMS. It’s a playground in itself. I used the write/recirc “looper” for stutter effects, or to create random rhythmic loops. If I could go back again I would have tried making a loop and then patch one of the tap outputs into a (gasp) 230 to get a pulse in time wit...

I know there is free work proceeding on MARF firmware. I was wondering the original firmware guy didn’t finish, but it’s probably about money. That's the $1,800 question that everyone who has built or bought one has. I am incredible grateful for all the hard work that Steve Barsky and others have b...

Re: Suzanne Ciani secret buchla module

It's a dual 5 step sequencer that she uses for x/y panning on the 227e. By varying the clocking pulses, slider CV amounts, and stages between the two sequencers she can get a lot of different panning motions. Pretty neat!

This module was on Roman's list, so I'm guessing that would be the route he would take. I'm thinking the chances of it seeing the light of day are pretty slim at this point.

Re: All easel functions as 200e

Don't forget the balanced modulation and reverb! The 289 should cover both of those. I went with the 261 for an oscillator that's closer to the one on the 208, and I also went with the 266e's Stored Random Voltages for strict adherence to the rules of this exercise. https://cdn.modulargrid.net/img/r...
