Re: Looking for a builder? Post here!

Hey everyone, I'm looking to pay someone to repair my Sonic Potions LXR.

It quit working a few years after I built it when we had a power brown-out. I don't have the resources to troubleshoot it. I'm in the US.

Please PM me with details.

Bunker: I was going to mess with the Supercollider stuff soon, haven't yet though. I'll let you know if I have success.

I agree that those machined round pin sockets are the best I've found for testing caps/resistors

Re: Tocante Studworth

Did you end up building one? I just bought the 3 boards. He does talk about touching solder points (and covering certain ones with nail polish that you don't want to touch) on the center section for modulation on a recent Youtube w/ Hainbach and Divkid

Re: MUM M8 weird noise bleeding

Maybe the Noise Tools is the issue or the filter is very sensitive? Here's another person experiencing the same thing 2 years ago but with Cold Mac: https://llllllll.co/t/troubleshooting-noise-within-a-eurorack-system/11787/22 Olivier Apr '18 This seems like a good spot to bring up something I encou...

Re: uZeus enough to power these...?

You would have unused power on those rails, but pretty much any other modules will require more +12 power to run. You only get a maximum amount of power per rail, if you max out one rail it can't just pull from the others to increase one.

I don't have the Malekko module, but it doesn't sound like you're in for much luck from what I can find:

Re: DIY or not DIY?

A lot of my studio is DIY. It all started with a Mutable Instruments Shruthi about 10 years ago. Now I've got 2 Shruthis, a Sonic Potions LXR, and 12U x 104hp of eurorack that's almost all DIY with more projects waiting in queue. I first started building because after being completely ITB for 15+ ye...

I love the Benjolin and currently have a diy module like the one in this video and been happily using it without much understanding of what’s actually happening under the hood. Lately I have been digging in and trying to learn all I can and I’m feeling a little confused with this patch. Specificall...

I started my eurorack DIY journey ~5 years ago. Planning on finishing the enclosure sometime soon as it's currently just a frame with open top/bottom https://i.imgur.com/gjtvPMH.jpg I have an irrational but extreme hatred for those knobs on your clouds module (I replace them on any module that come...

Re: Sooooo frustrated with threaded strips

I've used both for long periods of time. Sliding nuts are infinity better. My only conclusion as to why so many people don't like them, is that they must have been using some archaic version, like hex nuts that would spin and not tighten or something silly like that. I think it's people that litera...

Lots of good experiences with MA here. At least they've added a filter to show only what is in stock. I understand the frustration with their inventory but as others have said, there's not a lot of well known companies out there helping us synth DIYers, so it's probably better than the alternative (...

Marbles syncs my other sequencers fine. Can you adjust the PPQ setting on your sequencer?

edit: to directly answer your question -- no, you can't adjust the clock out other than via the rate setting which affects everything else.

Long night, so I'm messing with some less used modules in my rack and came across this filter. Finally giving it a close listen and as you guys mention, it is noisy, yes. Finding it kinda interesting though. Here I amplified the noise using m277 and Clouds + a bit of reverb (Strymon BlueSky + Ablet...

After 2+ years my LXR stopped booting up last week :ripbanana: I came in my studio and it was locked up - not all that uncommon. I turned it off and back on and now all the LEDs light up but the machine doesn't boot.... It sucks that the SP forum is down. I guess I'll start checking power points for...

Re: LXR failure

Hey, I'm having my LXR since January 2017 now, and though it was never the most solid gear I had, it was working fine. Yesterday it suddenly died on me. You'll see the symptom in video 1. Video 2 is showing what happens when I try to reinstall the firmware: "File n". Seems like a hardware issue. Ca...

we wanted to ask wiggler's opinions about setting up separate diy build threads for each of these modules. there are enough modules (16 or so?) that it would seem easier to find comments, experiences, demos etc if there was one dedicated DIY thread per module... eg diy rings, diy braids, diy clouds...
