Re: Volca Beats Hat Mod?
Hey, you should check this post from Dimitree : https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=193238 He really go deep inside the korg Beats and proposed some hats and snare mods. I hope your soldering iron has a small tip since it's all SMDs ! Good luck, would be interested in the result ! Tha...

Volca Beats Hat Mod?
I'm not a DIY-er, but I do own a soldering iron and have some free time lately :). I like the Beats stock sounds, including the snare, but I find the hats a little too metallic for my liking. I'm a big fan of 70s drum machines, in which the hats were more noise-based. I know there is a white noise s...

The 2.1mm barrel cable from Sweetwater should work! That’s good. I actually just went into one of my cable drawers and found what looks to be the same one! Now I’m thinking of grabbing a metal A4 size clipboard and some Gorilla mounting tape. Pull off the clip and it is a little under the size of t...

Is there anything special about the 4ms barrel connector, or can I use this longer one?:

You could probably just use a piece of plywood cut-to-size, with velcro on it, to mount them bottom to bottom. Or drill holes for screws, for something more permanent/sturdy. More elegant than plywood :). What is the thinnest material that is rigid enough to support them, presumably held in place b...

I'm downsizing a bit, and wanted to better utilize my pods. Two questions: 1. Has anyone come up with a simple and elegant solution to mount two pods bottom to bottom, like a 6U 60hp skiff, that does not involve a pedal board and does not increase the length or width? 2. If mounted bottom to bottom,...

I can make a nice vintage-y hat with any hp filter fed with noise. I like to use the Quantum Rainbow for some source variety, and currently have a 2hp MMF crammed into my 48x drum pod. Kicks, SSF Entity all day. It's basically a filter, after all. I could achieve great results also with the QPAS for...

<t>So just so I'm understanding how this works... I can hang a trs to MIDI dongle and plug in my cheap MIDI keyboard and start playing, right? What about using a Euro sequencer with CV/Gate? If I have the expander attached and am running into the CV/Gate ins on the main module, will the env/vca from...

I do not see anywhere in the manual about turning off the stage count. My stage menu on the unit goes 1 to 64, with no off position. hum, that is indeed weird. I only always use the "Fixed Forward Mode" that resets after a fixed number of steps. And I always assumed the stages number is ignored oth...

So I have to set the stage count to 7 if I want to skip a stage? Seems odd. So by default it is at 8, and by skipping a stage, I am making it count Stage 1 as both 8 and 1? That can't be right. not sure what you mean, but you can turn off the stage count entirely. Metropolis will then loop through ...

I just got a used Metropolis yesterday, and updated to 1.36 without any issues. Problem is, when I skip any stage using the skip buttons, the first stage in the sequence begins doubling its repeats. I haven’t done much tweaking of settings, and am running in the normal forward mode. Is this a bug, ...

I don't see the SSF and QPAS as similar at all. Definitely keeping both. Definitely not so similar. The only similarity i see the description of Quad Peak and that is where it ends. DiPole is a Beast on its own level, QPas is not even close (i do own it as of now) but it might be worth keeping them...
