Re: Best discontinued modules
Not sure if they are officially discontinued or just really hard to find but monome stuff was pretty sweet when it was plentiful. Arc + Ansible is still one of my all-time fav controls for CV.

Re: Emblematic Systems - Catalyst - macro controller
I finally have some time to focus on modules again and the next batch of Catalyst modules is just around the corner. It will be about 6 weeks till they ship. Heyo! Glad to hear things are smoothing out. Nice to hear people getting off their C19/Life rollercoasters and getting a chance to smell thos...

Re: Eurorack for my current setup
I am thinking of MI Yarns or Endorphin Shuttle Control module for the MIDI/CV module in an Intellijel 7U case and few modules. Cool! Once you’re ready to get the midi-to-cv up and running with your OT, here’s a really great resource on using the midi sequencer with modular in combination with the s...

Re: MMF-1s vs MMF2 sonic differences?
I find the MMF-2 to be much smoother sounding than the MMF-1S. I rarely put the MMF-2 into hard saturation mainly because it’s a bit too harsh to my ears but the soft saturation is a really nice circuit. I would compare it to 25%-40% saturation on the MMF-1S, but, again, any sweep or movement of fre...

Re: compact A-D envelope with gate input for looping? Hit me!
Contour doesn’t loop though, does it? It does. But there is no CV over looping via a gate input turning it on and off. The closest you’d get is the hold circuit which is more freezing the slew than changing the cycle/loop behaviour directly. I'd just like to add that you can indeed use the gate inp...

Re: ACL Sinfonion
I’m having a strange problem this morning that has flummoxed me. (I have already reset the unit to factory settings and rebooted multiple times at this point.) First of all, tuning seems to work exactly as expected: All the outputs send the expected voltage levels (matches the screen) and I’ve tune...

Re: compact A-D envelope with gate input for looping? Hit me!
ALM pip slope is the closest I can think of right now...the CV control over loop on/off is likely to be the hardest thing to find in that size. 2HP larger and there’s the SSF Mini slew which DOES have CV over cycling I believe. In fact, 2HP larger would likely open up wayyy more options (Joranalogue...

Re: Voltage Block / Varigate combo?
Your explanation and Joey's initial response make the VB and VG way more powerful in terms of more modular type sequencing. In fairness, the 185-2 precision adder is kind of the linchpin that makes the above patch concept work since any clock divided sequence(s) can be patched here. The VB’s...

Re: Is there a 6-8 chan mono euro mixer with 1 send and eq/filter per track
To get all that in 30 HP sounds like a unicorn hunt to me
Esp. the EQ.
The closest I can think of is HexMix plus expander which you already mention but that’s nowhere close to 30 HP.
In your “failing that” category, however, perhaps SSF Muton or Erogenous Tones Levit8?

Re: Voltage Block / Varigate combo?
I'm having a difficult time understanding what you're saying here but very interested. Send a 16th not sequence, then modulate with whole note, half note, etc. clock divided sequences from the VB to get complex sequences up to 256 steps. Would you mind explaining this further? What 16th note sequen...

Re: Eurorack for my current setup
Yeah even a bare bones Eurorack setup of a few core modules is like 2-4k. I know guys with massive setups and 50k plus of modules! Of course they also have a ton of hardware and computer synths. One guy has like 4 Eloquencer sequencers in his live modular rig even! Another has walls of modular must...

Re: BEGINNERS - What have you always found to be poorly explained?
Beware and be AWARE of 'hidden' offset removers in your signal paths! Those AC coupling capacitors. This made me think of another point that is definitely not clear for all modular users (or even clear at the module-by-module level either)...quickly glazed through the topic and didn’t see it overtl...

Re: Offset generator + switch as sequencer
The most common for me is to use a LFO where frequency and/or shape has the option to be modulated. Then I put the modulation of that LFO behind a VCA so I can dial it up or off. Note that the V1 Bow Tie has no clocking so it’s purely addressable. Also, if I’m not using the Joystick as a voltage sou...

Re: Offset generator + switch as sequencer
Actually I was thinking of getting the Maze anyway for mixing and routing both CVs and pitches, but in this context it would be wasted. Totally. It’s like a $500 module if I recall correctly so just for (potentially) having slew-per-step would be  FWIW, I usually set up what you’re talking abo...

Re: Offset generator + switch as sequencer
- bonus: possibility to slew from one step to the other, so ideally the switch should allow to crossfade between the inputs when the address slowly changes (e.g. while moving from input 1 that is 1v and input 2 that is 2v the output should smoothly go from 1v to 2v (1.1v, 1.2v, 1.3v, etc); Apart th...

Re: New 2018 MakeNoise Rene
Yes, Pam's is fine. Rene will only advance to the next step when gates are received, hence, if you send it odd division off gates, you will have some polyrythms happening. Cool. Of course. But can you do it within René only? If we are just talking X and Y channels then: POLYMETER: Set up different ...

Re: Sequencers with ramp control
Patching and combining several modules would work, but the main point for me is the a fluid interface to create modulation patterns, so it has to be immediate with symmetric spacing. Had this on my mind the other night since I gave the suggestion of a switch and voltages....so gave it a whirl with ...

Re: BPM and clocks based on time
It seems sounds since 60 BPM = 60 beats per minute = 1 beat per second...so /5 would yield 1 beat every 5 seconds = 60 beats every five minutes. The only problem I’d really envisage is doing the math on something like PNW which is calculating its clock pulses at the outputs based on a PPQN setting w...
