Re: Cables on a shoestring
the cheapest patch cables and other sundries Please don't go for the cheapest - it will result in buyers regret in very short order. Everything goes through those cables - consider and value them with the same thought and respect as your modules! I have a variety of cables but the majority are Doep...

Nord Stage 3 and Eurorack you say? I added a Nord Stage 3 to my eurorack studio in the summer - fabulous! No idea about your question - too busy pretending to be Herbie Hancock circa 1973.

If it's Really Deep Learning perhaps it could automatically select the correct answer to the 'What module should I get next" or "critique my rack" type questions.

Re: Doing "events" in euro-land? vs probability?
Not sure why a clock divider wouldn’t do what your counter module would do - you select the divide output that matches the count you want to achieve to trigger the next event. Most dividers have multiple outputs so the same module would give different “count outputs” which can also feed further divi...

Re: Doepfer A-180-3 Suddenly fried
I'm pretty sure I've never plugged output into the output. The only module I have damaged is an A-180-3 - it happened because I inadvertently connected it to the output of a module. I am certain of this because I accidentally did it twice.... The "sensitivity" of this modules output is due to...

Can you tell if the vinyl you are listening to was cut using a digital delay on the feed to the cutting head or whether a tape machine with an offset playback head was used? Genuinely interested, because according to your thesis it makes an audible difference and you can hear it. No, I can't, and n...

I want to know if my *audio* signal has been converted to binary at any point When the stylus wiggles, it is directly caused by the artist. If the audio has been converted and treated digitally, I think and feel a little differently about it. When the audio has been translated to and treated as num...

well that's a pretty decent price for a case that size - does it have rails and inserts??? (I just priced those from exploding shed and they were 150€ for 12u / 126hp - and they are reasonably priced) are you going to buy 40 modules straight off? if so you need to buy a load of power supplies - if ...

Looks like you have things under control there! Play it and, as skreetis says, see what you are missing. I was thinking maybe more modulation - those Noise Engineering modules suck up modulation. LFO or envelopes - maybe a sample and hold...how about MI Stages? Does those things and more and is fair...

it is my wish to record tracks without daw and multitracking. from the eurorack direct into the recording device! is this still real? or very very difficult? do you have examples of such production? Re: Playability and build quality of Matrix Mixers -- 4ms Doepfer and Low Gain
The Doepfer A-138m seems well spaced but there are no mutes. The Doepfer is a nice size and layout for wiggling about in a live situation - solid construction as per all Doepfer, decent sized knobs, good feel. True it has no mutes - though that never bothered me as I tend to push the outputs throug...

Re: eurorack to powered speakers question
Welcome to Muffwiggler and the world of modular synths! So the short answer: is get an external mixer. That will allow you to control the levels of the many audio sources you (will) have, place them in a stereo field and let you control the level of the overall mix going to your monitors (and record...

While I personally have Pam's New Workout, I always wonder about Abstract Data's Octocontroller. It seemed to fall off in popularity once the new Pam's came out. I ultimately went with Pam's because, while it seemed less immediate than the Octocontroller, it's menu interface seemed more intuitive. ...

Well, that's damning by faint praise. @OP: Look, everyone's going to recommend Pam's here anyways, except for the two or three hardcore Make Noise fanboys who like Tempi. That being said, there's a ton of alternatives: Technically, a master clock is just a free-running square LFO. So, I'll just pos...

Re: Magneto DRY/WET knob issue
When you reduce the dry signal you are taking out only one instance of the sound (albeit the original), when you reduce the wet signal you are removing all multiple repeats of a multiply delayed/phased wobbly affected signal (you have crinkle/wow and flutter/spring reverb and feedback on). I would e...

Re: Very low gain/signal within modular. Analog filters acting weird.
It's like everything in my studio besides some digital drum machines is acting all weird and very low on gain/signal. If everything in your studio is acting weird you need to define quite specifically what "weird" means in this instance - some might read that and think you have a ghost in your stud...

Re: What module takes in LFO’s and only outputs the positive voltage?
So there are 2 ways to avoid a signal going into negative territory. 1/. Make it a bit smaller and add a voltage so the most negative part of the signal is at (or above) zero volts. This retains the shape of the original signal. 2/. Rectify it so anything below zero volts is rejected - this changes ...
