Doepfer A-190-8 Pin Out
Hey all, couldn't find this topic covered specifically. Just got my A-190-8 Midi/CV module, but -12 or the red stripe is not labelled on the board. Wondering if anyone has a schematic or a pin out diagram. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Tiptop Mantis cases
I also did it mostly loaded. I removed some and took it as an opportunity to reorg a bit. I also did it by myself and would recommend taking the time to empty the cases after the fact. Nothing happened, but I got to thinking about that plastic and the stress on it when maneuvering the cases around a...

Re:
Got my Mantis brackets and installed them, about a 15 minute job. If you've put together anything by Ikea, you can do this easily. Hardest part was flipping the connected cases over with one bracket attached while not allowing them to spread, but I did it myself. Racking modules at the ends of the ...

Re: Patch Ideas
Same. My system stays patched for some time. I don't get a lot of time out in the garage so when I do, the case might not even get turned on as I'd be working in Ableton or whatever that day. I'm admittedly not a manual reader as I can't seem to retain information in that way. However, even the most...

Re: The Definitive Connecting Power Thread
I actually have a set of Tip Top Bus Boards and a power supply I no longer use. But you're saying that damage to the PSU could have been done. I build these modules, but I don't really know that much about what's actually going on. Could be the ADD, but looking at schematics gives me a headache. I g...

Re: The Definitive Connecting Power Thread
I just started building DIY modules and a lot of folks use a "bench power Supply" I can gather what that is by the name. However, not having one I use my rack. Can you damage your power supply in your case with a muffed up module? The magic smoke came out of one build so far but it had resistors in ...

Re: Patch Ideas
There are also those of us who are control freaks and not always so social. I learned everything from simply sitting down and playing with it. Putting patch cables in and seeing what happens. Also I rotate my modules a lot so I don’t get muscle memory and keep doing the same things with the same mo...

Re: I got it mastered and now I hate it
As electronic recording artists, we have such fine-grained control over every aspect of the material, that I believe we often end up with the track sounding pretty much the way we want it, without mastering. Sometimes I'll add a tiny bit of compression, and that's plenty. If you send it to somebody...

Yeah I don't think I would have went for that. I'm a fan of the K.I.S.S. method.

Re: Patch Ideas
I'd like to know about it if there is. I don't have a ton of time in the garage, but when I get the chance, I like to be learning and or jamming with efficiency.

Circuitbenders.co.uk DrumBs Module
Anyone have any experience building this module? I didn't see anything in the search for this one. I guess it's a tweaked version of the Syntom II. Any pitfalls, pointers, etc? I have built a few modules but this will be my second procuring the materials rather than a kit.

Re: Patch Ideas
How about sharing some simple processes instead of patches. I love watching Divkid for precisely this reason. He explores each module and uses it for a variety of different functions. Every now and then he will use a module in a way I never thought of. For example; Using a Turing Machine for bit re...

Just found out I can use my Z3000 MKII's input to monitor incoming pitch of an additional osc to tune. Huge!

Re: Patch Ideas
there's modular grid obviously... people tend to be a bit self involved about their modulars. i can never get anyone to send me the sound samples i ask for, either., even as there is money on the table. :despair: I'd do it. It might take a while as I get limited time out in the garage, but I'd tota...

Re: Patch Ideas
The best way to get fresh ideas imo is to talk with your modular community irl and see others users systems I guess. I’m learning a lot since I met some other synth guys in my city and we share equipment and knowledge a lot since we met. I wish I had a shop like Schneidersladen in town to try new s...

Re: Patch Ideas
Make a VCV Rack .vcv with your modules (or similar modules) and remove all cables. Post to patchstorage. Ask for submissions. Done. Them share them here. That's an interesting thought. I never use VCV, but that would be more like someone else patching your system than someone telling you how to pat...

haha you're probably right. I'm sure you could get pretty deep in the weeds trying to dictate all the patches in even a remotely complicated patch.

Patch Ideas
I was watching a divkid video recently where he was talking about how cool it was to have Richard Devine at his house patching his system. I wondered if there were ever any threads of folks posting their rigs and having users jump in and suggest/plan a patch (remotely obviously). Could be a bit tedi...

Re: Anyone know of anything comparable to the Percall?
Pulled the trigger on the Percall from Control. I'm pumped for some weirdness. Gonna feed all types of strange stuff through this thing. Been migrating away from standard synth voices and more into audio mangling in my rack. Thanks for all the tips! Time to let my cc recover for now.

Thanks! And thank you to MW in general. I'm still finding my way after about 2 years. You guys are always helpful, knowledgeable and usually not too harsh on noobs.

Re: Anyone know of anything comparable to the Percall?
Exactly Addam. I like that the ADDAC adds the drum voices, but I'm just looking more for an input to be gated with a decay control. I'll check Bastl. Control Modular actually has the percall in stock, but I like to pick brains before I jump on something. Edit: Looks like I could get two skis for the...
