Re: Erica Synths Black LPG

I’m enjoying the black lpg. The envelope has a range that allows you to dial in precise percussion sounds. Keeping it at 9 o’clock works best. The cutoff is called offset because it appears that below 9 it adds a negative offset and make the lpg completely silent. This alone is worth it. I like it w...

Re: Erica Synths Black LPG

Just installed mine, and I like it. The decay envelope is good, and like Brandon reported, keep the offset at 9 o’clock. I understand why they’re calling it offset, and that you would need to turn it up to nine or 10 o’clock to get a good signal. A lot of times with low pass gates there is some sign...

Re: Erica Synths Black LPG

Sounds great! Thanks for demo and notes about trigger length and the decay function. How does the mode cv work? I can’t imagine why you’d want to switch modes while using it. I enjoy the A-110-4, just hate tuning it! Maybe I’ll grab one again. Any thoughts on a 6-8hp voice for percussion sounds wit...

Re: Erica Synths Black LPG

Awesome. I look forward to bongo demos! The demo Erica put on youtube sounds great. Especially, as the filter is closing. There is a nice overdriven warm sound to it. I hope the envelope is solid for percussion.

Erica Synths Black LPG

I don't see a dedicated thread for the Erica Black LPG. I am curious if anyone has one yet and can share his or her experience. The website says "vactors." That is probably a typo, and should be vactrols. Either way, it sure sounds like a vactrol lpg. I should have mine in a few days and can report ...

Re: Steady State Fate Vortices - Mono + Stereo Mixer w/ Tape Sim

Just got my Vortices and it seems to be in great shape, sounds nice to run a bunch of drums through it, glues them like I hoped. It's really nice, absolutely gorgeous in person, and I'd really like an expander for sure Yeah, a channel mute expander would be great! Too bad only one expander can be u...

Hey all, here is a link to a new album. It features lot's of whale sounds, sounds of my neighbor crying herself to sleep, and a mouse on the harpsichord.

Re: Steady State Fate Vortices - Mono + Stereo Mixer w/ Tape Sim

I’m convinced now. I tried the stereo outs. Much brighter. I’m also keeping the stereo input around 3. Still might want a Mixup to go with it. Here’s why, use the saturation of the mono inputs at full strength and mix it with the clean sound for a parallel distortion effect. So many uses for Vortice...

Re: Steady State Fate Vortices - Mono + Stereo Mixer w/ Tape Sim

It cracks me up that some people are saying it’s too extreme and some people say they can’t hear it at all :goo: :hihi: Yes, although I’m surprised because the effect is so clear to me. I guess depends so much what sound each person is putting into it... plus expectations and personal taste etc. I ...

Not sure who this is for. I hear some interesting drones and textures, but nothing that makes me want it. I was hoping for a standalone fx unit. If you’re listening MN, we need a new updated stereo erbeverb.

Re: Steady State Fate Vortices - Mono + Stereo Mixer w/ Tape Sim

Verbos Bark Filter has an envelope follower on each band. Seems pretty dense. Not sure about other envelope followers, but Detect Rx is perfect.

Yes, totally. My thought was use detect-rx to open and close fx returns.

Awesome! Noted and will probably be the first thing I try once I get Vortices in the rack. 8-)
When I discovered tuned feedback, I was blown away. Set your delay for only one repeat. Try a Serge Res EQ or filter bank. Feedback as an instrument is very fun

Re: Steady State Fate Vortices - Mono + Stereo Mixer w/ Tape Sim

I will mention that the x fade works great as a feedback tool. I was using Instruo Tanh previously but this sounds better. The mutes expander will be a great addition. Any example of how you're using the x-fade in relation to feedback? I can imagine typical paths, but curious how you might be using...

Re: Steady State Fate Vortices - Mono + Stereo Mixer w/ Tape Sim

Anyone else having an issue with too much high frequency loss? I’m noticing that my samples, which already have a ton of character from outboard gear, sound slightly muffled. Synth parts sound good and smoothed out, but not really digging it with transients and drum modules, samples. I tried all th...

Re: Steady State Fate Vortices - Mono + Stereo Mixer w/ Tape Sim

Nah, I'll keep it. It's too good on other sources that need the color. I can mix the output of the Vortices and my sampled/processed drums into an Intellijel Mixup. That way I get clean mixing for samples and lo-fi stuff, and rounded tones with synths and digital stuff. I will try the stereo out tho...

Re: WMD C4RBN - New state variable filter/wavefolding

If someone from WMD checks this thread, can you explain the difference between the MMF and the C4rbn in relation to the ping input? I have both, but I find the MMF ping works better and also sounds better. Is there a way I can create the same ping decay on the C4rbn? I'd like to keep it since it ha...

I would also like to hear a demo. I was concerned it would sound like all that glitchy Transformers music from the previous decade. Now that I have heard a little, it sounds very musical, looks fun, and has a lot of potential. That freeze input would be cool with a live audio and a gate extractor li...

Re: VERBOS ELECTRONICS

Also, happy to report the Amp and Tone 2020 is awesome and mine is dead silent. The trick is to not turn up the amplitude control past 7-8 o’clock and use the input gain to your heart’s content for saturation and the best overdrive. I don’t see the amplitude raising the volume level on my ad/da conv...
