Re: Turning that modular loop into a proper track
Great topic. When I'm on my modular, I don't think about how I work in a DAW. Nothing linear, no A/B bridge concept. I've learned to really "play" my mixers to provide overall "structure" in terms of bringing voices in and out - whether I'm using mixer modules or sending vca outputs directly into my...

modeleus & Xomrys - amazing patch ideas. I don't fully understand it on paper, but I'll try them out. This is by far my favourite thread on MW.

Re: Audio programming for hardware
Monome stuff is also a direction you can go in. You can build a Norns Sheild for not a lot of money, and the programming language for it is dead easy from what i know. And it integrates really easily with Eurorack with a Crow module. The other part of the knowledge is electronic circuits, which soun...

Re: Loopers: Boomerang vs Infinity vs dual EHX 720
I made a couple of albums with 2 Eventide Timefactors, which I still think is one of the best looper pedals. Doesn't quite go up to 1min recording time (its buffer is much shorter - i think around 48sec at 1/4 of the recording speed). It has full MIDI implementation which I've never used, so I imagi...

Re: Westlicht PER|FORMER Sequencer (DIY)
Question - How do I send a reset out to other sequencers and determine the timing of such? Doesn't seem to exist in the manual but this has to exist right? i believe that's under the shift + clock page, or as a general project setting. haven't had mine on in a while, but there's definitely a way. Y...

Re: Beads vs ADDAC112 vs Arbhar vs Miso
ADDAC112 is at the top of the list for me personally, although I have a Beads on the way. I love the "hands-on-ness" and the playability of the 112, and some of its more unique parameters. I'm not even that much of a granular person and don't generally love smeary ambient granular sounds, so with bo...

Re: Your 3 least popular eurorack modules?
My guess would be: Circuit Abbey Impulse Drive (definitely the least popular, but I'm keeping it for amazing generative gate patterns and crude comparator duties) Softwire Quad VC Switch - highly recommended but fairly under+discussed. Great features, like bi-directionality, momentary/latch switch p...

Re: the DIY cases thread!
Here's a few pictures of my first rack - a 7u, 104hp rack with a lid, with a reverb tank powered by the Music Thing Spring internally mounted. I'd drawn up the design in LibreCAD, and had it laser cut from 9mm poplar plywood, then glued up and routed the edges at home. I'd got as far as doing a fir...

Re: Westlicht PER|FORMER Sequencer (DIY)
Here's a demo using an EG or function generator to modulate the Westlicht's tempo, and then using one of the Note CV outputs to modulate the envelope. CV feedback patch, if you will. Not restricted to this sequencer, of course; just something I wanted to try last night.

Re: the DIY cases thread!
Heh, cool. Some opportunity for artistic patterns there I'd wager, though to me it seems like it would be easier to just make it out of wood. *shrug Yeah, that's what my boss said, it's easier/faster with wood. Actually I think it takes about the same amount of time when it's all said and done. Car...

Re: the DIY cases thread!
I got some triple-wall cardboard at work, and decided to try and make a "flat" 6U for my home setup. I have my modular on a 2-tier keyboard stand, and the lower tier is a bit short, so I need something flat. I also wanted it a bit deeper for some of my Doepfer/old/DIY modules. My boss showed me this...

Re: Alternate firmware for Tides V2?
Well, I've customized my Tides 2's behavior in audio-rate to my idiosyncratic preferences (new frequency ratios, making one output a pulse wave regardless of the others' shape, and making one output an LFO whose frequency tracks with the other outputs). This was to make it the ideal complement to a...

I was (partially) joking. That's a big pile of very expensive and awesome gear and the way it was so casually dropped seemed like a flex. I'm envious. I know it was in jest, dude. Love it. Re: Cosmotronic Delta-V - Dual Envelope Generator and VCA
Can I ask Delta V owners whether the envelopes work as a clock divider a la Serge envelope/Maths/Falistri (does NOT retrigger before end of decay)? Thanks in advance The envelope ignores trigger during the attack phase, but retriggers during the decay. (Same as Maths I believe) You can patch a cloc...

Re: Sequencers , lfo step modulators , microsequences / arps on steps
Another advocate for the Westlicht. I've been avoiding battleship sequencers for years because I've always preferred multiple smaller sequencing tools for ultimate flexibility, but the Westlicht has a few incredible tricks that i haven't seen in any other Euro sequencer. The internal routing matrix ...

Re: ADDAC112 VC Looper & Granular Sampling
The ADDAC101 was one of my very first modules (still have one). I thought its Envelope Follower output was absolutely genius, and kind of wish they added one here, but I understand it might not make as much sense with a granular engine. A pre-granular env. follower out might have been cool - you get...

Westlicht PerFormer. Gamechanger for my system and musical output. And I've been resistant to battleship sequencers for a long time. Strangely connected with this one.
Super boring, but I got a Tip Top MISO on Boxing Day and love it. Utilities forever.

Re: Erica Synths Black Sequencer
I'm pretty seriously considering a Black Sequencer but have a question about the randomization of CV- is it possible to randomize the CV per step, so that every time the sequence runs, there is a different CV value each time? Specifically, is it possible to have a different note on a single step wi...

telephone game was one of my first modules. i don't think i really understood what was so good with it, to me it was underwhelming and i sold it after a year or so. I am! I really love his modules for how they work as playable systems. I have Tidal Wave and Hi Gain. One patch I really like is running my synth voice through Tidal Wave, then send the filter output to channel 1 of the Optomix and the VC mix output first through Hi Gain and then to channel 2 of Op...
