Re: Jomox ALPHA BASE
Those of you who have played a liveset with the AB, how do you go about it ? Jam for the whole thing on one kit/pattern ? Have a few different kits and patterns + tweak a few parameters ? Fullly organized song mode ? This would be for a techno set, so not requiring IDM levels of drum programming com...

Re: Verbos Bark Filter VS Frap Tools Fumana ?
I never got the chance to try a Fumana in person but the Bark Filter is an amazing sound sculpting machine with a character of its own. It really has a sound so make sure you like it, but if you like your Verbos modules already you should be fine. It's raw and powerful and very useful.

Re: dc11 - modular synth & deep techno
The interface + sound make a deadly combo and are definitely the elements that pulled me towards a full Verbos case. I'll soon make more videos focusing on individual modules, and maybe a new overview one since my setup changed quite a lot since that one. In other news I was super happy to see that ...

Been there, done it, got the t-shirt. It is no longer the 1990s. Imagine creating something new? Here is an idea: Microtonal "techno" that is beatless... please feel free to reinvent the wheel with your music and grace it upon the world Otherwise have a listen to ∑ - Schleifen for great beatless an...

Re: Vermona Quadropol, Livestock MIR - any advise?
Random to wake up this old thread, but just wanted to say I'm literally selling Veils because of how useful and CLEAN the Quadrapol is. This is my fav simple VCA in Euro by FAR and it has so many other uses. I may end up with a second one in my rack at some point, and am entirely convinced by this ...

Re: Doepfer Vs all the rest
Am I right to think that the A-171-2 is sort of like Make Noise Function but with attenuators ? Can it output 8v ? I'm tempted to make the switch. http://www.doepfer.de/a1712.htm There is an internal trimpot to adjust the output level. It does get to 8v, but not much higher before you start getting...

Re: Doepfer Vs all the rest
Usually prefer Verbos nowadays but still. I've started to add a few dopefer utility (152 & 160-2) modules and they work really nicely together to fill some holes in the Verbos line. I'd love to add a few more. Aesthetics match as well. Am I right to think that the A-171-2 is sort of like Make Noise...

Re: Eurorack Techno Production Questions
but I suspect many people will have no idea where to put the EQ, or even what frequency to take out. This requires lots of experience, continuous practice, and ear training. I feel that's where an hardware EQ can help, just a few knobs, no visual feedback, crank the gain, find the frequency to boos...

Re: dc11 - modular synth & deep techno
Listening the EP with headphones now - Great stuff and clear identity. Very well done. You say all is just one stereo track + mastering? Thank you, much appreciated :) Yes those were recorded in one takes, stereo recording coming from the WMD Performance Mixer. In terms of "composition" what you he...

Re: Overstayer Modular Channel - Who has one?
^ Hey, you again, how did you ordered one, since you're French too ? : ) This could be the all in 1 super end-of-mix box since it has some inputs it can act as a summing mixer too? I got it from Floating Point Audio in Paris. They are very nice and are among the few stocking Overstayer products. Us...

Re: Overstayer Modular Channel - Who has one?
Thanks ! The different gain staging points + all the headroom available is seriously amazing. I had a friend bring some stems of his he had already mixed and was quite happy with yesterday; I explained him the signal flow and let him tweak for half an hour, at the end the result was night and day......

Re: Your 3 least popular eurorack modules?
I don't own any ultra obscure modules so mine were easy to guess : from least popular : - Red Panel Model 158 oscillator Easy to understand as it's very limited. Barely any cv options (without the Model 156), doesn't really track 1v/oct, unstable. But damn it sounds amazing. If you want a smaller co...

Re: King of the Kicks
So what dod you end up with? I got a Jomox Alphabase and got rid of my drum modules. these tracks were recorded with Crater though, and you can hear the click feature quite well I think : https://postdynamicrecords.bandcamp.com/track/dc11-lxd https://cosmicwaverecords.bandcamp.com/track/naka-coffee

Re: King of the Kicks
I had the Crater before the SSF (don't have any of those any more) but here's my take on it : I much preferred the SSF, like you say, more range, but also goes deeper while still being able to have a lot of punch. It's a low pass filter oscillating so basically a sine-wave at the core whereas the Cr...

Re: Verbos Multistage - Shuffle or Swing - How do you do it?
1. patch CV B to time and then dial in the swing pattern on the bottom row 2. feed a swinging pulse to the "advance" jack 3. start the sequencer and also send a clock to the "advance" jack that combines with the internal clock to result in a swinging pattern I think you nailed it, those would be my...

Blasting the Alphabase through the Overstayer Modular Channel. I had a ton of fun blasting a few patterns at nearly 140bpm

Blasting the Alphabase through the Overstayer Modular Channel. Whatever you think about it this machine has a natural penchant for hard hitting kicks. Even though they aren't my forte I must say I had a ton of fun blasting a few patterns at nearly 140bpm
