Re: Outboard Modules - Best Solution?
This brings us to the second question, which perhaps should be in another thread, but how do you guys record your modular? Especially if you have several different voices going on? Does everybody use an outboard module or do you route the signal directly from a VCA to your audio interface? I’ve don...

I love my Nebulae 2, it's a very fun module. During adding some of my own samples to the qu bit usb, I noticed that there was a sample folder with some additional samples preinstalled. These are sample that are different from the 10 or so samples when playing through the file source. However, I am ...

how do pro sound artists/professionals do ambisonics/spatial sound with 6/8/12 speakers? it depends, what I see+use often is computer > ADAT interface > DAC converters. last month for 32 channels or thereabout we used a Yamaha D1000, an RME digiface USB and some cheap Behringer converters. EDIT hit...

i should've mentioned i'm looking for portable units. i've edited the post. the focusrite scarlett 6i6 looks pretty good to me: https://focusrite.com/usb-audio-interface/scarlett/scarlett-6i6 will i get four independent outputs for quadraphonic/ambisonics with this? yes but 4 outs is not really eno...

Re: Quadraphonic / Ambisonic / distribution platform?
@ummo
so one (simply) needs a 4-track for playback.
but what's the difference between 1st order ambisonics and the other quad technique you are describing? seems the same thing.

Re: Quadraphonic / Ambisonic / distribution platform?
We release quadraphonic and ambisonic cassette tapes. how the hell do you encode+decode ambisonics on a tape? ages ago, probably around the last glacial era, I did a double cassette tape release conceived to be played simultaneously (on 4 loudspeakers) and thus producing "mesmerizing phantom-sound ...

... I'm having a hard time live-sampling rhythmic stuff and keeping it synchronized. Could you say more about this, and/or provide a sample of the problem? I’m wondering if the record buffer could be an issue, but there’s not much information to go on. for instance when sending an audio signal both...

Buy something that will create a ramp from -1 to 1 at 0 dB. Make sure it's sampled slowly enough to cover every 24 bit integer value. Thereafter, you can just claim everyone is copying your stuff. You'll be the sole unique artist, and everyone else will not be unique in any way. Everyone who create...

I own one. You can change speed and direction, even do bidirectional looping. I said "most" because it doesn't do time stretch, but it can definitely sync audio quite well to different clocks. It can also trigger slices by CV. I use mine all the time for live looping and drums. It's pretty decent. ...

1010 bitbox. It can record for hours and do most of the above. It even even sync samples to your clock. No noticable latency either. there is some new firmware? (I don't have one). according to the manual reverse is "just" straight reverse play, is not "slow down playback speed until stop and go in...

Re: Ground noise issue
You could use that if both the synthesizer and mixer are properly grounded, but they are more likely not. Nothing with an external PSU will be. Forget the Rane chart, it is out of date. like this? https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/3373_rane110142_1.jpg (personally I have no problems using ...

Re: Ground noise issue
The correct cable to use is mono 3.5mm plug wired to 1/4" stereo plug. It should use screened twisted pair cable wired with the screen and cold both connected at the 3.5mm plug screen. uhm wait, that corresponds to what number of the Rane note 110 interconnect chart? EDIT: I thought this was to be ...

I have a very similar issue: the module works fine for about 10 to 30 minutes, then it freezes and outputs a very short slice of audio, and neither the pots nor the buttons nor the CV inputs respond anymore, as in your video – the only way out is to power off + on again the case, but the problem ma...
