MIDI Designer app users ?

Anyone is using Midi designer app on IPad along their synths ?
I’m struggling to make it works with my kawai Synthesizer over wifi midi in my iPad.
I succeed to connect my laptop via WiFi but data doesn’t seem to be transferred from the app to the kawai.

Re: Kermit mk III - coming soon

Yeah... I’m still accidentally assigning modulations when I’m trying to get to other things, like changing waveshape. Ha I just don’t use it regularly enough at this point to develop that muscle memory. Synth DIY Guy did a video on YT and uploaded a KERMIT chart list with all combinations you can m...

Re: Polyend Poly 2

Sad to read those users experiences, i remember they stopped produce their first Poly version as well so maybe they are going to reach v3 now. I might wait before getting one to use with an Octatrack which seems to pair very well with all those extra cv outputs to use with OT’s lfo and sequencer. An...

Re: R-56 reverb module

What are your favorite patches and tricks with your R-56?

I like to use mine on drums in parallel to add some nice colours.
I’m still trying to figure out the best modulator for those cv inputs.

Re: Practice techniques for synthesizer performance / sound design

A good practice is to play in front of an imagined audience. Play as if you were doing a live show. This will help you to stay focused and prevents you from straying off from the evolution your piece takes. Don't forget to hit record and to examine the recording. Maybe it turns out awesome. Maybe y...

Re: Best way to arrange the connections between modular and sound interface?

The nw3s modules are good quality. I', always recommending them to people to people who want multiple I/O modular interface. People will say you don't need line level conversion, they will say you don't need balanced. But honestly both those things just eliminate for good any hassle with that. When...

Re: Losing faith in the Octatrack

Here is my 2 cents since I had almost every Elektron machine except the SID. This goes for most of the Elektron machines. First off, to get a clean sound: A: Turn off time stretch, it's on by default. B: Turn off the filter on each track, it's on by default and isn't transparent. C: Turn off master...

Re: Best way to arrange the connections between modular and sound interface?

I use a nw2s::o16 module to get 16outs to my mixing desk via two DB25 connectors TIL!! Very nice module indeed, I love how they put everything together in just a few HPs. Now, $425, I feel like I'd need to think twice to decide between that and a WMD Performance Mixer. Something under the $300 bar ...

Re: Best way to arrange the connections between modular and sound interface?

I kinda like the (C) option since it is very similar to my set-up. I use a nw2s::o16 module to get 16outs to my mixing desk via two DB25 connectors then on my outboard desk I have everything going thru individual outs or groups to my sound card with each channels set-up in Ableton. For me it is the ...

Re: Rossum Electro-Music Assimil8or

You can save the folder you are working in, (optionally create a new one,) and load the folder where you’d like to save the sample. Alternatively, you can sample first, save, load the new folder, and import the sample. The card is strictly a storage medium. Audio is never played directly from the c...

Dumb question - Is it possible to change the patterns of individual tracks on the Rytm (a la grid mode on Ableton Live)? Or does every pattern have 12 individual tracks?

One pattern for 12 tracks.

Re: Pictures of your techno rig for inspiration?

I tweaked my setup quite a lot since I moved into a new space with more room, and decided to take the drums our of the modular and finally go for a drum machine. I went with the Jomox Alphabase and so far I'm very happy with it. It sounds great, and the workflow is really far from the nightmare sto...

For latency have you tried using Live's External Instrument device? That is the easiest way. For slicing, you can slice in Simpler. There are many youtube how-to videos for slicing in Live. Thanks for the advice! I totally forgot those tools, spent one hour setting up every channels I had and every...

Re: How do you organise your recording session in Ableton ?

i always record too much then cut things away later, I find it a lot easier to remove a bunch of stuff than try and add things in exactly the right spot I kinda have similar workflow since I try to capture sounds from a patch I do, play it as much as I can. I will usually tweak the bass in correlat...
