New Why We Bleep Podcast is an in-depth interview with Surgeon (Talking Modulars and Live improv!)
Friends, Romans, Cats, I've got a new episode of my Podcast out which may be of particular interest to wigglers, as it features modular improviser extraordinaire Surgeon! Someone I've wanted to interview since I started the whole thing, and I got to chew the fat on all the good stuff with him, parti...

https://youtu.be/4jCCzpWBsFs AHOY HOY I've put together a video explaining how to set up and patch a complete live system within an intellijel Palette case - it uses the 1U strip, but apart from one external clock is achieved with no cheating! Damn. Hoping that any excess Patreon funds can be given to his family? I won't change my pledge for now (as in, I still pledge), but do let us know what the situation is/how to help contribute ongoing. My one in-person interaction with Mike was exiting NAMM about four years ago, me wearing a Muffwig...

An hour of improv techno practicing on my live euro system
Hai my beauties
Here’s a collection of jams made as I practiced on my live euro system.

There’s an explainer vid linked to in its description if you want more info of the modular and how I’ve wired it up, but ask if any questions!!

I would say one thing though, that you should be a bit careful about the choice of deliberately seeking out women or non-binary musicians. I only say that, as although I understand the desire, and agree generally, it does risk putting politics before content. It also risks creating a ghetto, by def...

Thanks so much folks!! x Thanks for doing these. It’s a lot of work to produce a podcast, and the compensation isn’t exactly commensurate with the time commitment. It’s really interesting to hear from the folks in the trenches. My opinions about certain designers, and their modules have evolved dram...

Mylar Melodies Live - 54 minutes of improv electro/techno
Hola Crew I just put out a live set on the Data Cult Audio Podcast, it's an improvised 54 minute electro/techno thing, quite funky and dancey...that's the aim anyhow! Whole shebang is here: https://soundcloud.com/datacultaudio/data-cult-audio-0059-mylar-melodies http://soundcloud.com/datacultaudio/d...

There was even one female performer who got upset at Moogfest because they lumped her into the whole female/non-binary scene and she ended up cancelling the performance... The reason was is that they didn't talk to her about it first I think... Well, here is the article: https://pitchfork.com/news/...

A Thread about the Why We Bleep Podcast
Hi Folks! I haven't shouted out this project here yet and really should - hopefully you don't mind me sharing this here as there's naturally quite a Eurorack focus. In short, I started a podcast to interview electronic musicians and equipment manufacturers, and talk about their process, the things t...

Sorry to slightly hijack this thread, but just to give you my response to that (I'm Mylar Melodies btw)... 1. The product should be shown in a video doing i...

Thanks for sharing mah vid paperCUT!! Defo agree that it needs more wavetables though, but I've really been enjoying using it for making music - it rewards time spent to crust up the sound, and I appreciate that they put detune and drift in there, so you can loosen it. Like all synths though, not ev...

This may not suit everyone, but I found that it seemed to meet a need, and it's the sort of thing I've looked for in demos ever since I got beyond the 101 stage. N'thing this post for total agreement - this is exactly how/why I make videos too. And just to make a gentle point to help show the chap ...

Re: Tutorial video makers: please show the full patches
It's great to *hear* what the modules can do, but obviously beginners need to see how the patch works, so we can figure out how to replicate it with our setup. We also need to know what a module does, rather than giving us the name. This adds more time to the process as we have to look up what a Cy...
