Here's a quick track messing around with the Drumkid controlling a jazz brush drum kit in battery

Re: Moog Mother 32/Subharmonican/DFAM, as the center pieces of a Eurorack?

To me personally the Subharmonicon looks the most interesting - mother is kinda basic, and dfam just doesn't hit that hard. Yea, the softness of the DFAM has always been my problem with it. LOL...uh, wuuuut?? The DFAM is the rudest, rawest, punchy, in-your-face, Nine Inch Nails/Aphex Twin-in-a-box ...

Re: Oscilloscopes

Okay.. lastly I should say that I had a $29 digital pocket oscilloscope from amazon that worked/works great for seeing what is going on. For newbs that dont have access to a real scope and want to learn a bit about the voltages going on in their system.. pick one up. It's not going to change your li...

Re: Oscilloscopes

With slow signals, like cv, analog scopes are going to be like a laser pointer on the floor with your cat.. once it moves its gone. It wont draw out, it will just show you a point on the screen where it is. We are spoiled with digital.

Re: Oscilloscopes

Edit: for old analog, if you just want a ballpark idea of what is going on and you dont need to measure anything more than your oscillator can spit out, get something that turns on and looks cool. Ha. If you are shopping for old school high tech scope specs, I'm not your man.. they will all show you...

:guinness: Side note: I remember getting my first analog scope.. I wasnt familiar with them and I certainly hadn't seen any music through them. I found a a very nice one at an estate sale.. I played about 20 years of my music through that thing in one day.. haha.. :guinness:

Re: Oscilloscopes

I was going to go with a data.. but I design circuits for fun too, so the rigol won out. I bought a few bnc to 1/8 adapters and they work great.. if you design circuits or think you are going to want to mess with electronics, go with a 4 channel, real machine. If i didnt design or troubleshoot circu...

Re: Moog Mother 32 VCA Voltage

Something to think about.. I have always used 12 o'clock as my standard starting point.. I think it may be set up for that, so that quieter sounds can be boosted.. that's the way Doepfer is setup too.. try at the 12 o'clock position and measure.

Re: My DFAM Reset

Yeah.. you are going to loose the pitch row functionality as the vca needs a good/full CW rotation to allow the high speed lfo or oscillator to pass a good signal.. this is as far as I went with the patch. There may be a way to mult and offset the pitch row so that you can get a bit more use out of ...

I can get a rigol screen capture from mine tomorrow.. but what probe setting are you on? Yours should be on 10x if you are using stock probes.

Can you now erase and create a new sequence without it locking up when there is a clock at the tempo input? Drove me nuts to have to unplug the tempo source every time.

Re: My First Eurorack Design!

I choose Eagle because it seemed to be the industry standard when I started to mess with circuits several years ago. It's definitely a learning curve, a steep one, but now I think I have a good feel for it. If anyone is interested in this board, I do have 6 boards. The board, faceplate file for fron...

What kind of push button switch is that? I have been struggling trying to find buttons I like. Sorry for the late reply, I had somehow missed this! Here is the link. I have received two sizes for the buttons with the same order number, they are not too far apart, but one is noticeably different. ht...

^ can you smell the sarcasm?

Behringer is supposedly showing the world how cheap it is to make synths.. why is a tin can and power supply so expensive?

Re: Behringer Go eurorack case

Power supplies aren't cheap, though. A power supply + brick + bus board is already 200 or more on their own. That is why you need a company like Behringer to come in and show the world how cheap power supplies really are to make.. and to make and sell them cheaply.. lol You would think they could g...
