I had something similar going with an EHX 2880, sending midi out to a midi/clock converter, and then on to the Easel where I had a card that routed the incoming clock signal to the seqnecer. Guess you could use any looper that sends midi out for this. I’m fairly sure there was a post on Muffs years ...

I managed to snag one. The quality of the whole thing is perfect....almost don’t want to touch it. I’m hoping we get another set covering the remaining ZF catalog.

When I first heard Flowers in the 80’s it just sounded like a random mess to my teenage brain. Listening back now it stands out to me as the most interesting thing they did.

Don’t write off the g0....it’s really not that hard. Coupled with something like a C3 knob recorder to record navigation of the buffer it’s pretty powerful.

For me the closest thing to the Easel in spirit is the Synthi.....not exactly a modern equivalent. Perhaps something like the Analogue Solutions Vostok ticks that box (albeit lacking a keyboard ...unlike the Synthi).

I’ve got the 22500 as well as the 2880 and a bunch of other loopers (RS-505, Octatrack). As long as you’re not changing the configuration of the 22500 from one loop / preset to the next, it’s really not that fiddly to use. I leave mine set to do dual asynchronous loops permanently and have no issues...

One way of dealing with a limited (eg. 16 step) sequencer in a small rig is to use a sync’d looping device to capture the current sequence/patch, while working on a new sequence/patch to fade in. 4ms DLD works well for this purpose.

I have this same issue with my iProgran card and the high frequency whining.... I’d always meant to investigate whether it was ‘normal’....but never got around to it. I’ve never been able to work out a way to get rid of it either :-(

The EHX 22500 is different from the other EHX loopers in that you can have tracks of different lengths for polyrhythms (albeit only 2). Both loops are also stereo. I've sometimes accidentally run my PB2 at 9v instead of 12v and it too is a different beast, often in a good way.
