I’ve had most of the IFM modules and the PB, Coco and Sidrax. Other than the aforementioned Dunst, I never really thought of the IFM’s as being euro versions of sections of the full Ciat instruments....they seemed more like their own thing to me, sharing the same spirit (and no doubt borrowing circu...

Pretty sure this was the topic....just one resistor needed on the card I think (there is a pic half way down the first page).

I had something similar going with an EHX 2880, sending midi out to a midi/clock converter, and then on to the Easel where I had a card that routed the incoming clock signal to the seqnecer. Guess you could use any looper that sends midi out for this. I’m fairly sure there was a post on Muffs years ...

Don’t write off the g0....it’s really not that hard. Coupled with something like a C3 knob recorder to record navigation of the buffer it’s pretty powerful.

For me the closest thing to the Easel in spirit is the Synthi.....not exactly a modern equivalent. Perhaps something like the Analogue Solutions Vostok ticks that box (albeit lacking a keyboard ...unlike the Synthi).

I’ve got the 22500 as well as the 2880 and a bunch of other loopers (RS-505, Octatrack). As long as you’re not changing the configuration of the 22500 from one loop / preset to the next, it’s really not that fiddly to use. I leave mine set to do dual asynchronous loops permanently and have no issues...

One way of dealing with a limited (eg. 16 step) sequencer in a small rig is to use a sync’d looping device to capture the current sequence/patch, while working on a new sequence/patch to fade in. 4ms DLD works well for this purpose.

I have this same issue with my iProgran card and the high frequency whining.... I’d always meant to investigate whether it was ‘normal’....but never got around to it. I’ve never been able to work out a way to get rid of it either :-(

The EHX 22500 is different from the other EHX loopers in that you can have tracks of different lengths for polyrhythms (albeit only 2). Both loops are also stereo. You can also save the loops for later recall. Might be worth looking at this as it’s smaller / cheaper than the 45000 and the enormous n...

Zoom R24. 24 channels, 8 inputs, SD-card recording, cheap (and a bit nasty) and runs on batteries. Can also act as a weird sampler/looper/drum machine, an audio interface and a DAW interface / controller. Has some basic built in effects but I really really wish it had a send or two. Editing can be d...

I’ve got a Skylab with 222e and an Easel. I tend to find that while full of amazing possibilities, the 222e requires so much effort to setup to potential that I never quite get there, and may as well have just used the 218. Great thing about the Easel is it’s so immediate, you’re more likely to play...

Thanks, sb and lumena - I'm sufficiently reassured and convinced to keep the Mescaline and try assembling it. I finally have the time to sit down and start assembling and playing with my Mescaline, and the bloody panels will not fit properly on the rack. The whole thing feels uneven and the tolerances are too close, the holes not lined up we...

dang... always get excited when EHX does something new... but as a big looper addict i don't think this brings anything terribly new. it's basically 2 more channels of a 2880 in a much bigger package. too bad they didn't blend features of the 22500, like put pitch control for each loop as well as t...
