Re: Recommend some monitors?

I would never recommend Rokkits to someone wanting to produce; they are artificially punchy and the mid-range is absolutely awful. he never explicitly said he wanted to produce. i feel like they’re practical for someone looking for a “bang for their buck” type option. as far as production goes, the...

Genelecs or barefoot. Even ATC if you have the cash
both are sick and both are mad expensive. i know the OP never gave a budget but i have to assume he’s not going from no speakers to 20k in speakers.

Re: Recommend some monitors?

alternatively Krokits are popular but from what i’ve heard from users is that they provide a false sense of security when mixing with them. exaggerated low end maybe? but are supposed to fun to jam out on.

Re: Recommend some monitors?

I have a pair of Adam Audio T8V and they’re a good value. i find them very neutral. Personally, id like to upgrade to the A8X but these are serving my purposes well so no reason to change other em.

It's about the artefact. The price of having the cool thing maybe something that you don't want to pay, but it's still cooler.
crazy!!! all this time i’ve been going about this all wrong. i really thought it was all about what you do with the artifact, not the cool factor or the artifact itself.

Re: Behringer VCS3

But the new thing is not as cool as that vintage thing. i disagree completely. did you write this post with pen and ink under the faint light of a candle? are you still watching a black and white television set? i prefer my gear to have modern amenities in addition to traditional standards. being a...

Re: Behringer VCS3

Beh gear is never gonna be cool. I would even venture that 'everyone' can agree on that. who’s the ‘everyone’ that can agree on that? i dont think behringer is cool, but from my experience on this forum and a few others that there are plenty of people who think behringer is not only cool, but basic...

Roland TR8S: a real TR workhorse that meets all my current drum machine needs.

Sequentix Cirklon: it does everything i need it to do and it does it with precision. the workflow is fun and kind of addicting. the build quality is on another level.

Will definitely pick one up should it materialize. They dropped hints about a CS-80 clone a while back, where the hell is that?
i mean, name a vintage synth and they’ve probably teased a mock up of it at some point to test the waters of interest.

Roland D50 is cheap and has a good playable keybed. Got mine for 250€. And the internal synth is a classic.
but when did you get it for 250€ is the real question? prices have jumped up on those.

if you can find an affordable roland D50, the keybeds on those have a top notch feel.
