Sounds like it might have some kind of hardware issue, though nobody's reported this before.
Email me via this page http://grayscale.info/orders and I will try to get some more info and troubleshoot. Glad that you have a scope.

Re: New Module Design
Partially this comes down to a lower barrier of entry into making electronics. There are more people making more stuff with lower startup costs and lower expectations for financial returns. So they just make whatever they want because it's fun and they don't have to worry about appealing to a large ...

Re: Why are so many vendors/manufacturers low or out on stock?
One big issue recently is that shipping networks are very congested. Re: Current status of US Customs fees?
The key for us Canadians buying from the US is to avoid using UPS or FedEx and stick to USPS/Canada Post. Yes, and I wish everyone knew this because I've had a few Canadian buyers get upset after first paying for expedited service through UPS etc and then having to also pay brokerage fees to the ca...

Re: 4U Panel Colors
Nice module design and concept. I think you'll find that there's no need to reinvent the wheel. The aesthetic has a historical precedent that is part of the appeal for modular users. The Serge grid gives you a good functional density and an easy way to set up your panel layouts in 1" width increment...

Re: Is there no virtual Serge modular?
The issue as I understand it is that Serge doesn't want to see virtualizations of his original designs. That could change. Anyone is free to do their own emulations of course but for a "Serge approved" version that approaches the sound of the hardware, it could be a while. There are plenty of Serge-...

Thanks @xcc and @depaffect – this info about the attenuation is correct. @Bitter Synth: The trig switch only triggers a single grain – a tiny blip of sound whose duration is partially determined by the Size parameter (and the range of Size is determined by the Time/Quality setting). You will not hea...

I haven't manufactured any of these for a while. Analogue Haven was the last shop with any inventory and it looks like they're out of kits. Only assembled modules left:

I still have a few black Maths panels for sale: https://grayscale.info/panels/make-noise-maths-v2-black/ Here's a video showing the process. You need a 5/16" hex driver, take care not to scratch either panel during the process. I usually put some tape on the end of the hex driver to keep it from scr...

Yes, there is something you don't understand. Please read the MIT License carefully.
That said, the SMP firmware was published two weeks ago:

I'll publish the DR firmware eventually, on my own timeline.

Nope, you'd have to desolder the switches if you want to replace them.

Re: switch cap part number for malekko voltage block?
If you're referring to the switches at the bottom, they are probably C&K D6R – available from Mouser, Digikey, or the usual DIY shops. Available in various colors and with two different force ratings: F1 (lighter touch) and F2 (more resistance). I spec the F2 on my modules. Color options, photo from...

Resistance is an electrical term, the word the OP is looking for is "torque"
I prefer (and spec) vertical-mount pots from Taiwan Alpha, which are widely used by many manufacturers (Make Noise, Cwejman, and others) and available from DIY shops.

Aluminum prices have gone up due to tariffs. And in general I am focusing more on hardware development ...

Re: Buchla-compatible adaptations of Mutable modules
Thanks for asking. No ETA yet. It's been prototyped but needs another hardware revision. This will be a good addition to the Buchla ecosystem though since it's a bit like having a 6-channel MARF and you can chain up to six units together for 36 "stages" in total.

Great post, thanks for the project update. Enjoyed the nerdy typography tangent too, really appreciate that level of attention to detail. The sides of those cases might have been drawn with a French curve and scaled up. Another old-school analog design technique akin to using Letraset for making fil...

This is one of the cleanest and comfyest setup I have seen. Love the uniformish cases. Very cozy and looks like a great room to patch in! Agree, was going to say the same. It's probably not much of a secret but carefully reviewing the full Doepfer lineup can be quite illuminating. Newer brands get all the hype but there are plenty of weird and interesting modules in the Doepfer product line and they don't cost much either.

Re: Grayscale Algorhythm: Polyrhythm firmware + black panel
Haven't updated this thread in a while. Three things: 1. Mylar Melodies posted this video a few weeks ago, using the Algo with the "Polyrhythm" firmware to full effect. https://youtube.com/watch?v=4jCCzpWBsFs&t=3s 2. This led to an influx of people asking why they couldn't buy the module. Well, ther...
