Re: Favorite stereo output module?
I have a Joranalogue Transmit2. It is very clean, transparent, no frills, no nonsense module. When I push it into the red, it doesn’t distort. Seems to saturate/compress somewhat, but no harsh distortion whatsoever.

Erica Black Dual VCF can get out there, especially with self-patching.

Re: How often do you use VCAs with digital modules?
I have figured this out a but recently. But is there something else I am missing besides using VCAs basically as an attenuator or mixer (albeit, sometimes a CV controllable one)? What else? I’d say I use them for attenuation more than anything else. Thinking of VCAs as automatable attenuator is the...

Re: Adding warmth / saturation / crud
Honestly just passing the signal through my PanMix and Joranalogue Transmit2 is enough. I have the Erica Fusion VCA2... it may or may not work as you think it might. I do however like wiggling the feedback knob in it as it makes it almost sound like a phaser, making me wish it was CVable. I say just...

Re: Happy Nerding PanMix - The Concentric Man's Linix
Potentiometers supplier lost connection with reality and now requires 5 month waiting time after full payment to finish the order. So I should find the solution. Oh wow! That's gotta be rough. That pretty much affects most of your product line. Hopefully you'll be able to find alternatives. Let us ...

Re: the DIY cases thread!
I'm building a 9u x 110hp case. I'm going to install a switching power supply(Trogotronic m15) and the total draw once the case is full should be roughly 2500 mA +12v and 1400 mA -12v. I'm wondering whether I should put in some ventilation holes. The case is curved and has quite a bit of space in t...

I have two HappyNerding FX AIDs. One is the original the other the XL. I use the original for more end of chain stuff like reverb/delay and the XL for more flavorful stuff. I am thinking of getting one more maybe.

Re:
Someone was asking about how to convert wavetables from Serum into WaveEdit. I figured out a much better way than I'd previously used, and figured it'd be better to share it here. The compatibility problems with Serum are that (A) its tables often have weird numbers of entries per bank, like 3 or 1...

Re: Tuning Guide/Help
1. Assuming that all oscillators will be tuned to the same note when fully CCW is a mistake. None of my oscillators tune to the same note when fully CCW. 2. It is also important to tune oscillators with their 1v/oct inputs plugged into your 1v/oct source (sequencer, quantizer, etc.) because you can’...

Re: Are there any modules with knobs that click as they turn?
Some VCOs such as Erica Synths Black VCO have octave selector knob that clicks.
Xaos Belgrad filter’s selector knob also clicks.
These are basically rotary switches.

Need help troubleshooting RYO Penta - Sequence not advancing
Hello all, I just finished building RYO Penta. Just connected and the sequencer will not advance and is stuck on step 1. I've tried a couple of different trigger sources into the Clock input. At the time when I purchased only the panel and PCB were available, so I got parts from Mouser, although I f...

Re: Decoupled gates from notes in sequencer?
Noise Engineering Bin Seq is a very playable and simple gate sequencer. You can combine it with any CV sequencer that advances it’s step with each “clock” signal rather than those that have internal clocks or clock multipliers and such. My favorite for this is RYO penta but recently it’s been an uno...

Having had a Kurzeil K2600... I bought this as a rackmount immediately before dipping my toes into Eurorack, and even though I dabbled with it, its VAST engine and 500+ page manual put me off a bit from fully delving into it when Eurorack is so much more fun and immediate. Did you have this concurr...

that soldering smd is even more fun than tht :)... Yes! I find it easier and less fiddly too! I wonder what you mean by "fiddly" here. I've done both smd and tht with a soldering iron, and while I agree that smd is not that hard, it most definitely requires pointy pincers, not sneezing in the gener...

Re: Pamela's New Workout with external clocks: still trouble?
Clocking from Vector. No issues. One cosmetic thing that I’ve seen others mention too with other sequencers as well is that PNW shows 1BPM slower than the tempo set on Vector. Say I have Vector at 147 BPM, PNW displays 146BPM. But doesn’t affect functionality and the sync is rock solid with no issues.

Yesterday I found that Mimetic Digitalis and Rampage together make for a very flexible recordable LFO. That in itself is great, but the story doesn’t end there. You also get a bonus related trigger source by taking the Rise and Fall outputs from Rampage.

Re: Did anyone start big and no regrets?
The very 1st case I built (finished in July) is 150HP 20U. The case is not full yet, but I didn’t start out small either. I wanted to be able to do full arrangements with multiple voices and drums, so that’s what happens. However, I am not new to synthesis or music. Having had a Kurzeil K2600 and ha...
