Re: Rossum Panharmonium Resynthesizer

Any examples out there of the Panharmonium being used as an oscillator, no external input, just playing melodies using saved spectras? I really want to know how that sounds. Me too! I have bought one second hand. And I don't know if the spectra are the factory spectra or spectra from the previous o...

Re: Importance of compressor/limiter in feedback path, and options

I’d love to hear from a tanh user how well it’s working for them in feedback delay patches. I know it’s advertised for being used in these patches but I actually have one and haven’t had success with using it for this with the 4ms dld. Even with the knob all the way down the feedback is out of cont...

Re: input level external device.

If you have stackcables or mults, multing a signal to several channels of a mixer is a quick way to boost gain. It's probably not enough for line level devices though.

Re: Voltage controlled EQs

I use a digital EQ ... it's eight channels of 31 band graphic equalization ... it saves 100 user curves and 100 user presets of up to eight of those curves for each preset. Those eight channels are 100% independent of one another ... dedicated 1/4" analog inputs and outputs for each channel (ADAT I...

Re: Endorphin.es Running order ; two track trigger sequencer

Why doesn't Running Order continue your old sequence while you are editing a new one? I don't like that my interactions create so much silence. Would it be possible for a firmware update to implement this?

Re: New Systems Instruments - Harmonic Shift Oscillator & VCA

Thanks, everyone, for the appreciative comments :-D @ari ellis you have good ears. There was a temperature problem in the prototype where self-heating of a tempco resistor would produce about 10-15 cents deviation on higher pitched octave+ jumps, then stabilize to the right value after a few second...

Re: New Systems Instruments - Harmonic Shift Oscillator & VCA

Wow, sounds really good! The website's equations are helpful but I think a spectrogram demo would be helpful to visualize how the harmonic control is effected. Some interesting sounds in that video for sure, I like the idea of the level and stride controls. That said, it sounds to me like there are ...

Re: 14hp for a kick that’s not just a kick

So this might sound like a complete idiotic standard muff's reply but consider Plaits. Ever since I found out (duh) that the AUX out in Kick mode has a more 909 like kick I am using this a lot (main out is more 808, but both can be seriously bend). Both have a lot of weight and you have the extra i...

Re: Metabolic Devices - Moonwalker & Papomi

I like these designs more the longer I look at them. Unlike Coherence, these modules are both simple enough to remember the functions 100% with such graphics; no worse than any Make Noise offering in that regard. The V/oct glyph is cracking me up (it's a little keyboard!). Papomi is a simple enough ...

Re: CV and Sync bus - Whats the situation in 2020?

I find one should have put Rst & Clock or full MIDI on them (or at least tried to get to a common place amongst manufacturers) but now it is too late. I don't understand how it is too late? These lines are already being used for full MIDI with no hardware compatibility disagreements AFAIK. Select B...

Re: CV and Sync bus - Whats the situation in 2020?

I wasn't aware that Voltage Block doesn't work with Rene. The issue might be that Rene does not send individual preset save message for each program. It only sends a "save global" message, expecting the receiving modules to hold 64 or so presets in some kind of edit buffer. But that doesn't work wi...

Re: Nearness and LRMSMSLR

Mutable Veils provides 4 channels of amplification.

S will contain less of the voices patched towards center and more of those towards the sides. Like if the "slightly left of center" input on nearness puts 5v of that signal left and 4v right, the side signal would contain 5-4=1v of that voice.

Re: Alternatives to Rings in 2020

Consider the c1 instead of the d0 if you are wanting a more compact resonator/PM setup. d0 is more "modular" since it is just two incredibly flexible delay lines, but you will be engaging a lot of filters, VCAs, EQs, compressors, etc. in your quest for sick feedback. Nothing wrong with that, in fact...

Re: Endorphin.es Running order ; two track trigger sequencer

A scientific approach reveals strange interactions between channel 1 & 2 when clocked externally. Adjusting repeats on one seems to lag or mute the other. Endorphin.es crew, can you comment on this? It occurs regardless of sync. Edit: having a hard time replicating. Possibly I'm just a noob. Edit 2:...

Re: Endorphin.es Running order ; two track trigger sequencer

I can now confirm: Running Order is great! And it pairs so well with Clep Diaz for clocked modulation (clock the modulation with one channel, modulate the other). Few notes: It seems to save state on power down. Nice. It caught me off-guard that the Repeats knobs become CV attenuators (thought it is...

Ah didn't spot that - thanks - I'll take a look.
There is a change threshold in F8R's code (config.h, "#define THRESHOLD 4") which you could increase to lower the jitter. The trade-off would be less responsiveness from the faders.

Very much looking forward to this one arriving! It will be a great tool for polyrhythms in tuple mode; maybe an instant classic with the simple input mode (very Tempi-like). Seems like the only thing missing is rotation of the euclidean patterns, so a gate delay is probably a good companion. FYI it ...
