In the electric guitar and bass world, it's a pretty common occurrence to see vintage Fender necks on aftermarket bodies.
Wait, are vintage necks worth something? I have one in my garage from 1966.

Re: 251e vs 225e or 218e (midi implementation)

The firmware card puts MIDI messages on the bus. No interaction with a preset manager. I was thinking of this thread. https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=133082&hilit=usb+midi "NOTE: You need to have a PresetManager (225e or 206e) in your system for this to work. Keep in mind that you can use the firmware card as a USB to MIDI/i2c converter.
Don't you need a preset manager for this to work, i.e., 225e or 206e? (Doesn't seem to work with the 282e.)

Re: Korg Wavestate

What didn't you like about it? I fell in love when I heard that orchestral patch and just ordered one for $675 after canceling my Pro 3 (which would be harder to resell than a Wavestate at $600). I guess it just isn't my thing. It sounds fantastic and a lot of the presets are really good. I just di...

Re: Buchla Podcast

thanks for your reply. yeah, i tried to think of a way of overcoming this problem but you’re right, unless it has a nice acronym like MARF, it’s tough to do. the doepfer stuff is a good example, i STILL have to look up most modules, even some that i’ve owned! i guess i’ll just have to buckle down a...

I think the fifth module would be the 207.

We interviewed Eric on episode 4 of the Source of Uncertainty podcast. Not sure yet how different what he said then is from what he said yesterday. Might be worth a listen. :)

Re: Are Buchla Oscillators quantized?

The last thing I want to do is scare someone off from getting into Buchla. Yes, the 261e doesn't track pitch particularly great when using CV. Some say that the CV input was not intended for pitch specifically, but rather for CV control of the tuning of the oscillator. (Classic.) There are ways to w...

Re: Sudden GAS attack for a Waldorf Quantum, send help!

I bought a Quantum from a fellow wiggler a little over a week ago. I absolutely love it. I'm a visual learner so the touchscreen and visual feedback are a revelation. I love that I can load a preset I like and see how it's all put together.

It also sounds fantastic.

Re: Are Buchla Oscillators quantized?

There have been many discussions about the 259e and 261e pitch tracking. Both aren't great at it. The best solution is to use MIDI, either 225e, 225h, or the USB card+Mac. IMHO, if you don't want to use MIDI and you need accurate pitch, you should seriously reconsider getting into Buchla. Otherwise,...

Re: Buchla System purchase 2020?

I have a few more questions for you if you don’t mind answering for me. 1. Is it normal to wait almost two months to get a new Skylab sized system? 2. Why is there such limited stock (if any...) of new Buchla format modules available at their authorized dealers? 3. Are Buchla modules built to order...

No but domestic shipping is gratis on orders over 99 bucks.

The idea is less about making bucks making these but moreso giving people an option for cables that don't break mid-set and aren't repairable.
