Anyone have an issue where the trigger led always appears on? Is this a common issue with kickall builds? I've traced the VCA circuit and haven't found any issues. Any thoughts on trouble shooting, as I'm currently at a loss.

Re: New CHA/V-derived DIY standalone video synth

Hey y'all, After building LZX Cadet series modules, a friend showed me Jonas Bers's CHA/V website, and it got my DIY energy flowing (because cheap & hacky are definitely my thing). Initially I just designed a little board so I wouldn't have to solder directly onto the little red VGA tester, but thi...

Gonna bring this back from the dead.

The info I can find on this is spread out, out dated and minimal.

I don't know much about AVR programming so as I uncover info I'm going to post this here. Image

Ink is free. only when you steal it from where you work. Sometimes you need a very specific manual. sometimes the module doesn't need too much explaining and should be left for explaination. either way a manual should have three things. It's max power demands, the way to plug in power, and a dirty ...

To change the subject of from panel design to what people are looking for in the modular spirit. I think the lots of new folks just getting into it are looking for a couple of modules to use like VSTs or guitar pedals. It may start affecting what new modules come out too since many more people will ...

It'd be good to recess the switch so it wouldn't be sticking out awkwardly of the side of the case.

If you repanel it you could use thicker metal to act as a heat sink satisfying the recs of the power supply.

If you are putting a linear power supply inside the case keep in mind that the capacitors can be very tall on the boards. You can consider the placement of some modules placing the slimmer ones over the power supply but you may not want to worry about that. I built a 100mm deep case and could not us...

Considering some modules have panels that looks so nice that if they had less function they would be art. It's all in the eye of the beholder as to if it's too expensive for what it does. I've over spent on DIY spending $0.50 of SMD capaictors when I didn't want to wait for anything cheaper to come ...

You'll only get 12v difference between V- and V+ with that supply, you want something like the meanwell RT65b that will give you a full +12v and -12v and you get +5v. I used a 4ms distro board kit with that supply and it works great. It's hard to find out about power and all the stores and plenty of...
