Re: HW and SW sequencer with eurorack

Recently finished working on my 2600 and set it up in the studio and connected the CV outputs from my Beatstep Pro to it. Was having quite a bit of fun then decided to send Midi to Beatstep Pro from VCV Rack (ran Foundry into the CV-Midi module). That was quite fun! Then fired up Reaper and sent Mid...

Another quick thought...the midi signal you are sending to your converter...is it going down to 0 or is it hovering around its mid-point? Depending on the midi signal, some will stay at 64 and cycle above and below. If possible, take a voltage measurement at the tip of your cv cable. It should be 0 ...

Another thought...to the right of the VCA controls is the mixer section. Make sure the VCF slider is down. That allows audio from the VCF to bypass the VCA and any effect it would have on volume. Obviously the VCA slider (in the mixer section) needs to be up...

Scotch brite pads are good. I’ve also used 320 and 400 grit sand paper and emery cloth. The 400 I also used on a belt sander...made a great finish but the sanding belts kept tearing up on me (cheap Ebay stuff). As mentioned watch your sanding direction - keep it constant. Years ago in high school sh...

If I understand what you’re asking, you should be able to control the VCA using either the AR or ADSR inputs below the VCA. Select one and connect your CV to it and make sure the slider above it is up...start with it all the way up. For testing make sure the slider above the other input is down. I’v...

Also check out Hartke Kickback amps. SWR has a small Workingmans series and Eden has(d) a Nemesis series that was pretty decent. Just stay with a 10" or larger speaker.

I've made many cables over the years. Now days I tend to work the euro cables into whatever module I might be buying...saves me time that way. However there are times when I need a cable length that I don't have on hand so out come the tools. As ehness mentioned earlier, good tools as well as a fixt...

Could be a bad or partially unplugged optical cable from the ES6. Try swapping with the ES3 Also go thru Totalmix with a fine tooth comb. I love my RME interface but Totalmix has caused issues for me many times. Not that its bad, but because there is so much going on there its easy to accidently mak...

PM33AUD, It seems like the LEDs tend to flicker a bit when in an algorithm that uses the SD card. If I had to guess, I would think it has something to do with the amount of RAM being used on those algorithms. UPDATE (not really): Speaking of RAM, I thought maybe there was some issue with writing th...

I have a V-bass connected to my Spector 6Ex-Lx bass and you can get pretty synthi sounds with it. What's nice is the polyphonic octave effect you can use - unfortunately the filter sounds in the V-bass are not as good as what you could get in a modular setup, but they're not bad. I don't know how th...

Something else to look at in Reaper...the channel fader levels. These gave me fits for quite a while. They default to -3...they must be at 0. I was having issues trying to get the ES-5 working when Os suggested setting it up in Live. It worked there but not in Reaper. After mucking about with it I n...

You need to find the current consumption for each module you have, plan to buy and may be dreaming of getting...add this up and that would be the minimum you'll need. Also take a look at the solder joints around the feedback pot and other circuitry you cleaned. There might be a bad solder joint that you finally caused to fail during the cleaning. As you inspect the joints gently wiggle the part connected to see if there is any movement in the joint. If so, resold...
