Re: Moog Subsequent 37
However, the only con (imo) is what made me shelve it for a while: I could never get truly clean bass out of it. What levels do you have the oscillators at? I find I need to keep them really quite low for properly clean sounds. Anything above about noon seems to start driving the filter, and that's...

Re: Behringer Neutron Case - what to do ?
I mounted the PSU and other bits inside my euro case so I can still use them. Its a DIY case though so easily hacked about! Could you please share how you did this? I would love to try and replicate that. Thanks ! Sure, here's the thread I started on this. http://www.bitbull.com/uploads/fora/neutro...

Re: Second SQ-1 - why do I feel slightly embarrassed?
Cool. FYI, I power mine by USB. I also highly recommend third party knobs like this one: https://spillerphoto.com/product/knobs_black_korg_sq1/ However, these were the best (discontinued): https://us.amazon.com/Upgrade-Sequencer-transparent-position-indicator/dp/B075CLH4KM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 They...

Re: Second SQ-1 - why do I feel slightly embarrassed?
I like the features of the SQ1, but I find it doesn't work well with other gear - using the sync input always seems to take a step to start properly, so it is then always 1 step behind where it should be. That makes it pretty useless for me. I have never had this problem syncing to all types of mod...

. . . As it turns out I have a Behringer "Eurorack" patch bay already installed which will do the trick quite nicely. Which Behringer patchbay is that? Nevermind, I think I found it. The patchbay I was looking for is one of the few with normalization switches on the FRONT panel: http://studio460.co...

Re: Xaoc Batumi: Yes? No?
Are you sure you’re talking about the same Batumi? What menu are you referring to exactly? One on the back of the module? I guess I missed that when I was installing. A menu doesn't have to involve a screen. Zoom mode on Batumi is a menu dive, albeit without a screen,so you end up with sliders in t...

Re: Xaoc Batumi: Yes? No?
The o_C seems to require menu-diving, is this correct? I dont want to menu diving, unless is 100% necesary. Then you don't want an Ornament & Crime. Personally I found Batumi more menu-divey than the o_c and, beyond doing really basic stuff, obtuse and frustrating. Different strokes and all that... 😉

Re: Thomann prices to the UK no longer include VAT
Bought something from Reverb approx £200 in value. Arrived fairly sharpish and I didn't get billed any extras for some reason. Unfortunately the somewhat incompetent seller sent the wrong module(!) so I had to send it back. Replacement took much longer to arrive, still no fees (I think they marked i...

Re: Batumi vs Malekko Quad LFO
I used to own a Batumi. Something that really annoyed me about the Batumi is that you could only use one 'assign' shape across all the channels, so you couldn't get a ramp from one channel and a triangle from another. The Malekko doesn't seem to have that restriction. You can get this on Batumi with...

Re: Recommend an analog delay
Is their spring reverb good enough that it'll make me forget about the Moog Grandmother spring? I dream about that reverb ... I really like the "offspring" algo on the Ventris but again, no mojo like the Grandma spring & different anyway. I can't compare it to the Moog Grandmother as I've never own...

Re: Recommend an analog delay
Other delays I tried: Nemesis (also kept this) OT but what do you think of the Nemesis? It's been on my radar for a while - I know it's digital but, from my experience with their spring reverb emulations, Source Audio seem to be one of the few companies that really knows how to make great-sounding ...

I'd try and worry a lot less about packing loads of functionality into restricted hp and buy more Doepfer.

Re: Recommend an analog delay
The Pigtronix Echolution series are worth a look - it's a hybrid delay, digital delay path with analogue filters. Plus it's stereo. I had an Echolution Ultra Pro. Sold it as I didn't get on with it, I found the 'extra' features like the bitcrusher and pitch shifter pretty useless and it was really f...

Re: BEST VCF at the moment ??
I just managed to get a discontinued Waldorf Vcf1. Really wanted one as I love the sound of my 2-Pole. Can't understand why it doesn't get more love round here - it sounds fantastic, build quality is superb, and it has really flexible routing options including two separate drive stages. Only downsid...

Re: Where do you put your "junk" modules?
Sell modules. Sell pedals. Sell any gear. If you don't use it there's absolutely no point in keeping it. Sometimes I put it in a box for a few months first just to make sure I won't miss it. Other than that I'm pretty ruthless.

Picking up this thread with a simple question : does one of these modern iterations of the Mellotron play samples for more than 7 seconds ? Re: Morphagene EOSG gate
Do you mean you need separate triggers for kick/snare/hat?
You could do this by clocking Pam's New Workout from the EOSG and using it to generate the triggers. It has the functionality to only trigger every x beats.
You could also clock an SQ1 or similar. Loads of options.

Re: Why are people selling Mutable Instruments?
I just sold my Plaits because I thought it sounded weedy compared to my analog oscillators and I found the multi-function interface annoying. I also have a Streams which I'm on the fence about. Don't like the interface and the lack of CV control over envelope parameters but I do like the way it soun...

Get the M-tron Pro and multisample it into the Deluge with an auto-sampler? This is something I've been intending on doing myself. Wow, that can be nice idea, but I work dawless... will think about that! Thanks :) You don't need a DAW other than to make the samples and you don't even need one for t...
