16 outs are easy, 16 ins are not. There's no facility inside the Archangel to directly select the current stage in hardware, and modifying it in software is a non-trivial effort. There are a lot of subtleties that were mapped out with gate in per stage that just made it a huge hill to climb. How wou...

how bout dis? F A N T A S T I C Suit, is this the EG the hooks into the STG Sync bus? If so, count me in for at least two, just __so__cool. Yes, this EG connects to the sync bus. In fact, that's the primary reason it's taken so long to release this module - so many special cases and requirements to...

Hello all, I do have plans to build a trigger expander for Archangel, but it's quite a ways down the road. Let me think about this, I may be able to do a trigger sequencer "lite" to get out sooner, but need to mull it over with Suit to find the best UI for the design. The current one on the drawing ...

To counter that I honestly don't see how you'd expect everyone to adhere to Sync24 as an option when using a modular system. Analog clock is already there inside the modular; why use external clocks or force someone to get the modular clock out of the system, into a device that will multiply it by ...

While the .DIV was designed to operate with 0-5V signals, the input protection on it will allow it to work with audio as long as it's +/-5Vpp.

There are a few ways to do this. For those with purely analog setups (not interfacing to a computer or external drum machine), the master clock will be an LFO of some sort where the square wave is the tempo clock. You can roughly dial it in with a scope or frequency counter, but still have to do the...

Do you have any particular distortion and bandwidth specs you'd like to share? I would also assume you'd like phase control as well as frequency control?

If it's manual, you could easily do a DDS oscillator and be rock-solid. Gives great accuracy in both frequency and distortion.

Depends on what you define as slew. If you're trying to get a slowly rising and falling curve out of a gate, then yes. The ASR mode is is basically an ADSR with the decay rate set to 0 and sustain level set to the maximum.

I'm also working on a LTSpice simulation of the VCS3 VCOs. It's quite a slog, but one thing that's helped me make some progress is to break the VCO into its component pieces - expo converter, osc core, comparator, etc. That way I can debug each individual block without interference from another, the...

You definitely want to get in touch with suitandtieguy - while I don't think he would be opposed to a chip swap, I'm not 100% sure. There could also be other things wrong, like protection diodes being blown out and such, so while you do have the skills to swap parts it may just be easier to do a boa...

The closest I've been so far was the Knobcon demo rig this year - here's the mG layout . It fit into an 8U case with plenty of space to spare, and I've even fit it into a 12U mixer case if you use the upper 5U for clearance. Granted there aren't any control inputs, but I was using an Archangel to dr...

I'm not going to jinx myself by announcing a ship date quite yet, but I should know when the next batch is going out by Knobcon.

Being a voltage sequencer, Archangel doesn't have a step silence function. I have used one of the sequencer rows as an amplitude control for the VCA in my patch, which effectively 'silence' the steps in question. Another nifty trick is to patch the output of this control row into a LFO with a pulse ...

Yep, it is indeed a 5U power connector. the .COM lives in 5U as the Pulse Matrix, so nothing super sexy or secret there.

Now, if modules happen to have a 3-pin MTA-100 header in that general vicinity... that might be interesting.
