Re: Nerdsynth NerdSEQ - eurorack tracker/sampler

The new waveforms need also some fair explanations: First, yes, they are oscillators included now with Sinus, Triangle, Sawtooth, Ramp, Square and Noise. All pitchable, notes, mix, detune etc. The square can also be changed in PW. So combined with the Automator you got a nice PWM Sweep. The downsid...

Re: Why is a 1u buffered mult so much cheaper than 3u?

Not positive on this but I think the 1u only has one circuit board, while the 3u might have two. The board space in the 1u module would allow for more circuitry on a single board without a daughterboard. That would increase the manufacturing cost

Re: The Official Eurorack Deals Discussion Thread

Analogue Haven is having a 20% off used sale; there's some good stuff in there like a Bataleur+expander for a steal at that price.

Re: LiveWire - AFG V2 (triangle in sin out)

Have you looked at it on a scope? And is your chain clipping at all anywhere? A slightly clipped sine sounds very similar to a triangle wave.

Re: New WMD Performance Mixer

Found just now on MG: https://www.modulargrid.net/e/wmd-performance-mixer-le It's just the normal performance mixer plus the channels expander under one panel. Oh of course, didn't say you did. Just clarifying as when I initially saw it I thought it was something new. I didn't say it was anything o...

Thinking of getting one of these as my first module of the new year. Hard to find any info or demos, though; anybody have any good examples to share?

Re: ADSR

Pricier, but more functionality in lower space than both (I think). I recently got the AJH Dual Contour Generators and I absolutely love it. Two extremely minimal AR/ADSR envelopes with an extremely musical retriggering behavior (multiple quick triggers increase amplitude). That feature sold the mod...

Definitely make use of this if you can, they have even more in the shop. I got a Boomtschak for $316, which is almost $200 off MSRP.

Had a DPO, got a Cs-L, sold the DPO. In addition to MUCH preferring the overall sound of the Cs-L, being able to use the two wavefolders independently means that you can process external sounds, or insert them into unusual places in the signal flow with self-patching. Same with the multiply section;...

Re: Request to all manufacturers: Please Standardize HP widt

Hi, probably been discussed, a request to all Eurorack manufacturers, please standardize your modules to specific widths: 2hp, 4hp, 8hp, 16hp, 24hp, 32hp. Also if a global standard of knob and jack height and spacing could be agreed upon that would be fantastic... e.g. Intellijel, Cwejman, Synthtec...

A quick clip of the above strategy. Subtle, but adds some nice variation opening the filter slightly more.

I've had a bit of success with this strategy: Patch an envelope and a relatively slow slew limiter to a CV mixer (or a destination with multiple CV inputs). Patch your gate to trigger the envelope, and also to the input of the CV mixer. When gates are sent, infrequent ones won't open the slew very m...

You don't need an output module (I don't use one for my rig). Just plug it into your interface and pad/attenuate if it's clipping!

The Trog one is pretty good, used it myself for a while. I think the general rule with that one is use less busboards if possible to reduce likelyhood of noise and such.
I currently use Doepfer PSU3s which, while a bit more expensive, are great.

Thanks for a quick reply. I think I've got enough 5V power left in my case, but my main concern is the smaller power connector on this Quad USB module. I've just ordered one for my Make Noise 7U suitcase without reading the information on Doepfer's website. Is there a way to connect it to the Make Noise PSU? Thanks. The PSU3 has 4 amps of 5...

Synced to the clock signal? I don't get what you are trying to mean. Are there EG that don't accept a trigger (clock or sync) signal ? Just feed a clock instead of gates and you got a clocked/synced EG As in each envelope stage's length can be a division/multiple of an input clock. Not triggered. L...

I use the WMD MSCL, it's fantastic for ducking. Plus, useful to have a compressor when not on ducking duties, and you can use it on two separate mono signals without mixing them, if you want to. I've also used the NE Pons Asinorum with my WMD Performance Mixer to create ducking effects with its ramp...
