This is definitely a Roland thing... I’ve got an ipad full of music apps and I’m running the latest iPadOS. Haven’t had one app break yet (Not that Apple doesn’t break shit....they do). My ipad is an older unit too. It’s a discontinued product and Roland is definitely not going to support it. It’s o...

I love the Cirklon. It defines my workflow. But my only complaint is that it's not much you can do to control it externally. Been wanting MIDI CC control over Track Values, but it just doesn't seem to be a concern with Colin. But for performance it hurts, since you can only access two TV's at a tim...

CF3, would you be kind to share with us what exactly can we do already or expect in the near future for the inputs of the CVIO? Many thanks in advance! I don’t know anymore than the next guy TBH. I follow the Sequentix forum religiously for info. But, I’m just guessing like everybody else. Doing co...

Re: How can I control Cirklon with my Modular?

change scenes with midi cc (or cvio) Yes, you can change SCENES in the Cirklon with Midi Program Change messages. “You can change scenes via MIDI using program change messages sent to the remote control input port/channel defined in the MIDI options menu. The program change messages are assigned to...

Yup, this. You could also get a 1/4” snake and solder 1/8” jacks on one end. Label the ends for easy set up.

Besides cheap, dinky stuff you’re not going to find mixers with 1/8” jacks.

I’ve had and used both the Analog Heat and OTO Boum. I love the distortion on the Heat, but I find the resonance somewhat unusable on the filter. The Boum I didn’t really like at all TBH. IMO, you’re way better off with a FMR unit as far as compression goes. I really wanted to like the Boum, but I j...

Those pushbutton knobs are a very cool idea, but kind of scary from a durability point of view at the same time. Brilliant design overall. Sorta has a “OP-1” vibe to it.

My vote would be the Mirage. With "lo-fi" samplers, go crunchy or go home. If money wasn't a factor I'd say EMU Emax (1) because of the variable sample rate (10kHz-48kHz :zombie: ). The keyboard variant can still be had for reasonable prices. Some of the older Roland samplers might be interesting an...

In the past I’ve had a rather large 5U/MU set up. I currently have a very small Euro set up, but until very recently had a rather huge eurorack set up for a long long time. Ive also had every other format imaginable like frac, serge, etc. I actually really like 5U/MU for all the obviously reasons. S...

Running the new iPadOS 13.1 with little to no issues. Except maybe some general OS bugs. A few apps are a bit little squirrely, but that will probably get handled in time with an update from the individual devs. Now, my studio desktop is YEARS behind OS wise. No way in hell I update that until I’m f...

I use a 24” Wacom Touch Enabled Cintiq. It has a nice integrated tilting stand and programmable hotkeys and jogwheels. As well as a floating on-screen customizable “shortcut box” that can be unique to each program. I did not pay full retail BTW, bought used for a very reasonable price. As far as DAW...

Strymon boxes, Eventide H9 and now this ... they all seem great... but are they really that much better sounding than good plugins to justify the cost (and space, cables etc) ? They’re 100% justified if you’re using a mixing console and mixing OTB, or just have a bunch of synths and need instant re...

Of course you could get “lost” on the Cirklon live. But maybe you shouldn’t be using it for a live set then, if you don’t have the chops. Same could be said about most gear. Practice makes perfect. The functionality is there on the Cirklon to play live. In fact, I’ve seen Daniel Bell (DBX) do a live...

Fab port of vcv rack, really darn good and will only get better. Love having mutable instruments on my iPad. Also just using mutable modules allows me to focus on the simple things. As an aside, several people have commented that the Cirklon is not ideal for live use. Why is that? I tend to do a lot of stuff on the fly and the Cirklon seems pretty decent for live use, even when I'm using it at a fraction of it's potential. I really don't have the extensive experience that othe...
