Re: Omsonic/dBs Stochastic Inspiration Generator

Please, please, I love the blue panel and its trim. I always appreciate when a maker has unique design, especially with some colour. Don’t let the black-out gang get you down. Keep the flavourful panels coming. None of us in the Black-Out Gang have ever asked (or even suggested) that they stop maki...

Re: Tendrils - right angle ultra-slim patch cables

I typically just order a ton of cables in whatever colors I need. But since I don't use Facebook , I'll just say that I would happily buy bags of cables that were black, any/all shades of gray, and white. The monotone allows a semi-uniform look while still allowing one to new connections or changing...

Re: Ochd or Sloths

I get real finicky about my modulation sources. I love the idea of the Ochd, but I really wish that the LFO shapes were sines instead of triangles. Those Elby modules that EATyourGUITAR linked look really cool. I just gotta figure out how to get them with black panels (ah, shoot me).

Re: Introducing Tuesday procedural sequencer by TINRS

I frequently use Tuesday in my little testing skiff, as it allows me to have a single, reproducible point of generation for notes/modulations and triggers/gates. It is really good for testing stuff out new modules, especially when you aren't sure what to expect from them.

Re: Black Panel for Intellijel Quad VCA

Replacement black panels for Intellijel gear are still kind of the holy grail for replacement panels. They are really hard to come by unless you find someone doing a small custom run. You might try getting some people together to do a group purchase. There are a lot of people out there wanting black...

Re: Favorite module that no one knows?

My favorite filter (right now) is the Epicycloid Voluptron . It is a ladder filter, but uses tubes instead of transistors or diodes. It is completely demented. They still make them, but I haven't yet met anyone else that has it other than me (but then again, I don't get out much). Epicycloid also ma...

Re: Black panel for PB?

You can still find some of the discussions If you dig through the old threads. There was also resistance from some vendors; it was stupid af. The funny thing is, when I first started getting into eurorack around 2014/2015, my original plan was to limit myself to modules with black panels so I didn'...

Re: Black panel for PB?

Even if you just made some black replacement panels, I bet you would sell a good number of them. I would most certainly pick one up!

It never made sense to me that the Plague Bearer didn't have a black panel while the Sound of Shadows did. They invoke the darkness equally (I've checked).

Re: Qu-Bit Bloom

Just to balance the chorus a little, I have been using Qu-Bit stuff for years and I have never had a single problem with any of their products, including the Bloom . That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if manufacturers of digital modules had different ideas about what constitutes a module's "re...

Yeah, that kind of profiteering is a subject that has been beaten to death on the forum, but that doesn't mean the behavior itself isn't gross. Agreed. Unfortunately, every time I have mentioned it previously, I have been shouted down. Even by moderators! I think those of us with that opinion are o...

Re: Plum Audio Wave Painter Oscilloscope

I've got one, too. While, it certainly doesn't have all the functions of the Mordax DATA or the Dave Jones O'Tool+, it also costs a fraction of either of those. If you have a limited budget or you're a beginner who just needs a simple scope to learn synthesis, I think it really fills that niche. Bef...

I've made a comparison of my 292 clone (with handpicked Excelitas vactrols) and my Natural Gate for anyone interested. I've tried to match it as closely as possible. The Buchla is panned slightly to the left, the NG slightly to the right. Sound source is a Verbos Complex Oscillator. https://soundcl...

Re: FIL3 Help

I could understand feeling like you had to choose between FIL3 and 100 Grit if you had a small system, but they are completely different animals with very different characters. I would argue that the 100 Grit is more versatile as it has a greater capacity to operate as a standard "clean" LP filter (...

Re: New Module: Rabid Elephant NATURAL GATE

I think people really need to look at Rabid Elephant products as something closer to Cwejman or Schippmann in terms of pricing. Like Cwejman and Schippmann, RE modules are a big step above the standard eurorack offerings in terms of premium parts, higher-spec manufacturing, precision and reliability...

Absolutely unsolicited bit of trivia:

Heh. I had a laugh because in my language, "yatma" means "daughter-in-law." My uncle frequently calls my wife "yatma," and most of the time I think he does that because he can't remember her name!

Sorry for the interruption. Back to transistor matching...

The 4MS VCA Mixer eats a lot of hp, but offers as much fun as you could possibly have with four VCAs. Matrix mixing, CV control and muting! It is really addictive once you start exploring all the ways it can be used to dynamically route your system. https://www.modulargrid.net/img/imagecache/600x588...
