Re: What are your 5U plans for the weekend?

yes, that was my favourite too. Sadly it vanished after a tweak or 10, and i couldnt get it back! doh. Had a good play, but no, no idea how to reproduce. it was quite early so will have to have another go at some point. PLL does make some amazing techno noises too, had a great jam last night. have t...

Re: Building an Oakley ASV 4-Voice: accessory module suggestions?

how about a phaser/flanger? oakley makes 2 phasers and a flanger. one of each, and a vrg and looping adsr might be cool?

bit 'boring' maybe but the oakley router also gives you 4x balanced outs.

Re: What are your 5U plans for the weekend?

J3rk builds the most ingenious stuff. That VCO I remember hearing about. Do you have any demos of the patch you describe? I agree the spartan use of a few select tools can be the magic mojo. Can't go wrong with J3rk designs. i spent 2 hours on friday going through the recordings, and editing out an...

Re: What are your 5U plans for the weekend?

I did make a few recordings. not listened back, i was enjoying a few IPAs at the time ;) But another thing i love about the modular is its literally the same the next day when you tun it back on again. But you can just turn the knobs a little bit and the whole thing transforms completely. I can have...

Re: What are your 5U plans for the weekend?

just had an amazing wiggle  J3rk/Dustin built me a complex vco ages ago and for various reasons never got a chance to play with it much. omg it does so much i patched up a PLL patch he told me how to do on it, and its amazing. a simple 8 step seq gets transformed into a crazy pseudo self genera...

Re: What are your 5U plans for the weekend?

I soldered up the Yusynth Pulse Delay PCB last night. then had weird dream where Yves was selling beer with absynth shots, and fruit pies. I bought one of each and lost them. I was very annoyed. Very bizarre!

got the wiring to do tonight.

 :despair:

so just to be clear, youve literally just put a wire from the out to the NC/in (?) lug on another channel with a switch in the middle?

cool. the panels they sell actually have a threaded hole so you dont need to have a hole in the front plate, but theyre 5u motm size only, dont know if thats any good to you.

Soundtronics do something like this;

Almost certainly generic cheaper versions, but Im not sure about types etc (i hate this side of DIY!)

Cheers

i ordered a doc sketchy motm frequency shifter ! amazing bit of kit, never heard anything like it, an analogue pitch shifter. cant wait to try it on breaks and drums. also ordered a yusynth pulse delay, to stretch triggers into pulses, so i can sync the modular to my mpc better. shoudl be an easy bu...

I am very sad to hear this. Unrecordings was a good friend when I joined this forum. Re: midiDAC question

ok, many thanks, ill give them a try. i dont use the vrg as much as i should im still learning all this.

the trigger sample I use is one someone made on here, literally one sample peak, afaict. works well for drum triggers but not so much clocking.

Re: midiDAC question

Ahh, now were talking! I use an MPC (dont use computers) which i have a sampled 'trigger' which does kind of work triggering some sequencers, but i was struggling to get a useful 'gate' (i.e. a longer pulse) which other sequencers need. I never thought to use an adsr (i finally got the other one i b...

Re: midiDAC question

bumping an old thread to ask... is it possible to extract the midi clock in the mididac? a solid midi > analogue clock would be really helpful now i know what im doing a bit, and plenty of room on the (1u wide) panel. i know i could send a bunch of 16th notes to generate one, but then you lose the m...
