Yeah, it was 2018..... And I’m still annoyed 😑 😀 What I meant by “out” in that particular rant was that voltages were changing by an obvious amount simply because they were patched to a mult in a different case, indicating that there were power issues and other artifacts of the lack of standards in...

Re: Master clock

While I personally have Pam's New Workout, I always wonder about Abstract Data's Octocontroller. It seemed to fall off in popularity once the new Pam's came out. I ultimately went with Pam's because, while it seemed less immediate than the Octocontroller, it's menu interface seemed more intuitive. ...

Re: modern cv/gate recorder?

The RS was the first thing I looked at, but it only does cv, and I have stuff that can just record cv. I was hoping for a full cv+gate recorder to preserve the gate lengths, timing changes, etc. Think of it this way. The RS-450 has 4 CV channels. Those channels don't care if the signal is CV, gate,...

Re: What Amp / Monitors do you use in your home for Synth?

Threads like this always make me look at my mismatched pair of PA speakers and question my sanity. I use an Alto Professional TS110A for the left and a Behringer MPA40BT-Pro for the right. It was what I had resources for at the time. Now... With many passions, I never quite get around to upgrading t...

Re: How do you feel mid-2020 about cv-equipped (and MIDI to an extent) instruments with your eurorack modules and approa

My setup's pretty simple. Just a BeatStep Pro, ALM's mmMIDI with mmT expander, and Pam's New Workout. I was really happy plugging the BeatStep Pro directly into my case except when I wanted to travel with it. Getting everything plugged back in was such a nuisance. Connecting over MIDI with the mmMID...

The E520 orders are in 3 sets: Pre-KickStarter, KickStarter (specifically, Nov 15 - Dec 15th ordering period), and post-Kickstarter. a) 100% of pre-KS orders have shipped (64 units) b) 65 of 211 KS orders have shipped (70 units) c) there are 50 post-KS orders I average 22 E520s a week shipping. I c...

Re: How did you pick your sequencer?

My sequencer selection has been very much about what was in front of me. I started with a Mother-32 and quickly discovered that I was not interested in learning the sequencer. The most fun I've had with it so far was sequencing from my PC. However, with a Mother-32 and a Pico RND, I found out I coul...

Re: FX AID - multi audio effect module

Introducing 6 HP version of the FX AID named FX AID XL. This version is functionally the same with the added separate modulation inputs for all three effect parameters plus Sample Rate Reducer (SRR) input. Reflashing is to be played to this SRR input. There is also more space around the knobs. Just...

Re: Modules that "Fascinate"?

Several recent fascinations: I'm just dipping my toes into the Serge Resonant EQ. Picked up a CGS model last week and then found myself too busy to explore it. I want to play everything through it: violin, voice, field recordings, gongs. Sound sculpting is a big reason in into modular. Monome Telet...

Re: Affordable CV Sequencers?

<$200 seems low for an in-rack CV sequencer. I'm using a Mimetic Digitalis for CV sequencing atm. That's 10Hp, but it costs $260.

If you want something small, maybe check out FutureRetro Trax.

Re: "paradigm shift" modules from your experience

I use a mix of both. My weight when patching is mostoften on the manual control, but i like to have the CV as a available option, ofcourse. But i use the CV controls not that much ( though, i really lack some suitable modulation sources) its also a thing of that the happy nerding dual Xfade is not ...

Steppy is cool but is like having a Beatstep in eurorack, you cannot cv anything, hands only.
Really handy for programming patterns on fly
Oh wow. That's exactly what I love/hate about the Beatstep Pro. With the Steppy being so small, that seems like a fair trade-off.

Thank you so much to take the time to help me understand these funtions a little better. I guess my hopes (and I'm still new to the modular world and my understanding of it is somewhat vague) is that I'm interested in creating various rhythms and have something chained from my main clock (Pam). Re: Your favourite Quad Quantizer experiences?

I'm a big fan of adding more quantizers to my own rig. While I don't need much quantization with my present sequencing options, I really want to stretch my legs with more modular techniques while having the option of using the quantization in my sequencers for a greater variety of play styles. Shakm...

Re: Random*Source Resonant Equalizer... or?

I think I'm ready to order a Res EQ. I'm looking at an Elby one as I type. It's larger than I'd like, but the price is right (and my cases are deep). Is this really just a "Get one. Get one now." sort of thing? I'm sure the Elby one is just fine, but I really, really love the second input along wit...

Re: There's a hole in my rack, dear Liza, dear Liza

My first thoughts were more mixing or a fixed filter bank (EMW has one that's the right size). Though I have to say, I'd heard some pretty high praise on other threads for the Doepfer A-150-8.
