I've only ever owned one hardware poly, my Nord Lead 4. It's nice, if a bit on the cold side. I long for an analog poly, preferrably the One, but saving up for that will take a while. On the software side I enjoy the Arturia SEM-V with it's 8-voice modulator and Synclavier-V mostly for it's subtle y...

Looks very interesting, and since getting an Intellijel Planar module I am hooked on the joystick theme, hardly ever use pitch wheels anyway so this is a most welcome addition! Also the sound appeals more to me than the Hydrasynth, but that could be the demos talking. Only 37 keys is a letdown for s...

I'll try to remember to check later, but a quick way around it is to boost the OSC 2 pitch with the attenuator/offset module. As long as that (and the OSC2 pitch in) isn't occupied already it should work fine. Of course it's not as elegant, but it's a solution.

I'm really loving this synth and might even be getting one myself (in three years or so...). One thing that let me down slightly in the beginning was discovering the SVF is fixed multimode and not smoothly variable like a SEM filter. I really enjoy that SEM/OB-6 12db LP with a touch of notch (or a ...

I just got a tetrapad, and I would say it’s a great way to get patches really animated. Come to find out: an expander is on the way. It’s like having eight hands with none of the embarrassing drawbacks. Planar is a good plan, too; wish I also had that one, but ima try my mi frames for the quad mixi...

"Performance" Rack... Opinions?

Hi all. I've been toying around with eurorack for about two years now and have learned a lot along the way. Currently my rack looks like this: https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/37617_capture_201906262051342_1.jpg I use it together with a Grandmother and occasionally some pedals. I love the ...

Bumping this thread to hear if anyone's polychaining their Nyx(s)? No demo in sight but maybe someone has tried it? I'm curious if a 4x Nyx v2 setup is my dream 24db four voice. I mean per-voice reverb is pretty dumb, right? And separate glide control... Eh. But it seems to beat 4x Nyborg 24 since y...

Feedback patch

I just stumbled upon some cool feedback sounds with the Retroverb Lancet. I was working on a Krell patch and wanted to have some reverb on it, but patched the Vermona into itself by accident. Anyway at times it sounded more Krell than my modular, so I decided to record this instead. Added some Echob...

Some great filters for sure. I'm a Moog fanboy, always have been, always will be. I get my ladder-fix from the Grandmother, but in module form I'd recommend the AJH Synth ladder filter. Man that sounds awesome.

After waiting roughly a month for Thomann to get the QPAS back in stock I got it in the mail today :D sounds great as a stereo filter for the Grandmother, overdriving the mixer with triangle oscillators, stereo LP from QPAS and mix in the SP outputs to taste... Damn. You can get kind of a LP/N blend...

I think it sounds great, especially for pads I guess and whenever you don't need the individual release times as much. This certainly beats any custom configuration of poly/paraphonic Euro 4-voice I can think of (and the Lord knows I've thought alot about those). I was convinced this was the synth f...

apologies for a possibly dumb/obvious question - i've been using the Retroverb Lancet with an 0-coast (headphone / line output), also with an Elektron Digtakt (one of two main outputs) with good results ... wondering if it can handle modular-level signals, or if i should attenuate (any modular sign...

I sold my Dual Borg to get the Qpas as I also had many other filters / lpgs but don't count too much of using Qpas as such. It does work but not as easy as a Borg. I could say the Qpas is as much an LPG as the QMMG is a quad peak filter for exemple, it can behave like one but it is not realy one. I...

Maybe not too slow, but when doing those incredibly fun organ slides all over the keyboard, I am sure glad I didn't go for weighted hammer action keys on my Nord Electro. My wrists can hurt a bit when I play piano sounds on it for too long though. Guess no keybed is perfect, but "speed" is not reall...

I have one and have quite a lot of trouble varying FM amount while staying in pitch. Basically I'm stuck with a set timbre and filter that to taste. Which of course makes this a pretty "meh" oscillator. I've never understood how other people make it work, despite reading alot about pitch stability h...

One of the cool things about three oscs is sounds OTHER than bass sounds, like various lead / sustain-y droney sounds. Because with only two detuned oscs, your ear quickly picks up on the rhythm and timing of the 'beat' frequency. It can still sound great but it is repetitious and predictable. But ...

Get a semi-modular synth, then you can keep one foot in euro-land for as long as you like. I sold my Little Phatty and got a Grandmother and it's glorious. Such a great sound, and one thst complements your polys very well. But if you don't like/need the Moog sound and/or don't want/need a keyboard y...

No one's mentioned the Dreadbox phaser yet? Seems like a nice budget alternative. Myself, I've had my MF-103 for quite a few years now and I still love it. For true stereo phaser and when I won't be bothered to leave "The Box" I often use Phasemistress though. I still don't have any Eurorack phasers...

I was recently going crazy with all the polysynth options, none of which seemed to fit me perfectly. I went with the Nord Lead 4 and I'm happy with it for now. The analog "alive" feel of something like the OB-6 is cool, but for me it felt better to go for a cheaper, more flexible synth. What are you...

Hell's bells I've just had a thought. Imagine if somebody invented a polyphonic theremin! It would be sensitive enough to detect the movement of each finger!
