The irony of this thread is cringe-worthy.

Group of nerds into expensive niche activity laugh at another group of nerds into different expensive niche activity.

Re: Dave Smith Sequential Circuits Prophet X

Quick question; does anybody know if there is an 'UNDO' function when accidentally switching to another preset from an unsaved magnus opus patch in the doing?
Peace

Synthezise Loop is under CMD + Wave The Audio-In Disk is Def the one to get. Has the Time-Dicer and Parallel FX Algos. Another one which is very nice is the RezFilter-Disk. Comes with FM-Effects which let you FM samples with them self or other samples. P.S.: I recommend checking out "The Daydream So...

Re: Pulsar-23 by Soma

I don't think the Pulsar is too complex at all and the infrastructure that pulls all the functions together is laid out very well. Like said before, it feels like a functioning eurorack drumcase more than anything else. When it goes to sequencing I also think people forget about the working and sync...

Re: Hardware recorders with overdubbing

The hardware inputs are indeed hardwired. You can easily switch out tracks on the SD card and I think sum/export them into a stereo file to free up space. Done quite quick with encoder and Display

And their pure digital synths sounds fantastic. E.g. I don’t hear that special something from these new Korg digital synths. I just don’t. Nice post Ensoniq-Friend! Yeah, what is it?.. My theory is it has to do with these quality 16bit converters. They are the high-fi'est of the lo-fi, if that make...

Re: Kijimi or P5 Rev4, help me to decide

For me personally the Prophet X is much more interesting. Has a new and lively sounding version of SSM chips. The sound design possibilities with the various high quality samples and open architecture in terms of modulation are almost endless. Also working with it is really intuitive and FAST. Highl...

Re: Recommend some monitors?

Anyone having experience with the big Neumann kh310 Monitors in a small studio? Are they also good for 'quiet' listening or need to be blasted? Peace Actually, they cannot be blasted and excel at low listening levels. Due to the closed construction they compress at high SPLs if there is a lot of lo...

The Voice/Vocal samples, what you can do and how you can play with them on the Prophet X is really sweet. Male, female and children variations, Ahhs and Oohs, words.

A good sampler like the EPS/ASR and any short voice sample could bring you in the same ballpark and with some exploration even beyond

Again, main point of my statement was; this compulsively focussing on what a machine can't do, instead of working around or WITH it, seems to me to be pure avoidance of just making... Sound. Now in comparison, listen to the music from the 90s(I could say 70s too but 90s is closer to what we are doi...

Listen to all the good music made in the 90s. You think there was one single sampler that let you track out your music into a DAW? This obsession about bugs seems more like an excuse to not get music done and comfortably wait for the "perfect machine" that does 90% by itself. :hmm: Go look at all t...

Just had a hard freeze. Lost about 4 hours worth of work. When I plugged the tracker back in and powered it on it started under "new project". That's a first. Welp. I'm done using this thing until they get this sorted or I find an alternative. Why don't you save your project in between? Doesnt seem...
