A Serge Resonant EQ can help immensely for this kind of sound, especially if you're wanting those metallic highs that ring out.

super late response but the Flame ended up being the best/smoothest. However, if you have anything with slower and simpler changes getting a slew or some high step# S&H + unsmooth recorder works the same.
