Re: Announcing ALM017 - Pamela's NEW Workout

Let's assume there's no change in functionality to Pam's, so it's just supplying a looping sequence, presumably unquantized. It looks to me like MCO is syncing itself via MUM M8 acting as a slew limiter. If I can stop my head exploding trying to work it out, it's like MCO will only play notes harmon...

Looks like the harmonic-series-sync trick to me. Going to try it myself. :sb:

Loquelic Iteritas? Can’t say I’m much a fan of the Noise Engineering stuff. I’m not opposed to harsh sounds but they really do nothing for me (from what I’ve heard, which is probably many hours of youtube videos). In defense of LI, it's capable of much more than the nasty tones it's demonstrated wi...

Re: How would you fill out the rest of my rack?

I'll second the matrix mixer recommendation, particularly the Doepfer A138m. It's cheap and you have space for it. When I got mine I felt it was the last of the basic utilities I needed for a fully-featured and well-rounded system. It opened up my patching in ways I hadn't thought of before and I w...

Re: What is your favorite small clock divider/multiplier?

I too like the doepfer a-160 but it is sometimes more useful with an a-161 sitting next to it. I have used the one of the a-161 outputs to drive timerunner as a 1/8 clock frequency master. Now Pams, old or new is sometimes confusing for an old fart like me. Foghorn Anyone know if you can drive a-16...

It may be a bit overkill, and there are other ways of achieving it, but it might give you some ideas.

Speaking of early Genesis, I've been listening to the Lost Radio Recordings. It's an interesting document of a band in transition from one that was, frankly a bit shit, to one at the top of their game.

Bear in mind also that Shapeshifter has been around a lot longer. I'm not recommending one over the other, but Shapeshifter will inevitably be better represented in the literature.

Love the eyes telling you what's low pass and what's high pass. :yay: What do you mean? A couple of unsynced LFOs into a mixer and into a quantizer. Reset one or both LFOs with divisions of the master clock for repeatable phrases.

MI Stages can be six of them. So does the slider act as an attenuator when CV is plugged in or does it just sample exactly what is coming in? (doesn't affect pitch CVs) It's an offset. Ok... so if you want to run pitch through just push it all the way down and it works fine? Yes indeedy. It keeps p...

Re: Self generating patches....tips and ideas ?

In the meantime, may I suggest you look into the Logistic Equation. You can find a version of it here, named Chaos Patch http://www.doepfer.de/a100_man/a100_patch.htm . It's worth looking into, it is purely mathematical and a great introduction to chaos theory and how to patch it up. Far better tha...

That's a chaotic system. I use them a lot in my music, and one day I'll get around to cleaning up my notes and putting out another book. I'd love to read a second book from you, even more so if it's aimed at more "advanced" patches. Seconded! In the meantime, may I suggest you look into the Logisti...

Re: Doepfer A-121-2 - Any Love?

Here! I got it to replace my uVCF because it had an additional notch out and CV over resonance (at the cost of an additional 2hp). It's deceptively characterful, or more so than the uVCF anyway. I use it a lot in the feedback path of the A199. In my current patch I'm loving its high pass into Kamien...
