Re: Time Machine malfunction

I’ve not A/B’d them with originals, but the Xvive ICs sound great in the Oakley ADR30 delay I built.

Re: [AVAILABLE] Blacet VCO2100 + build thread

KSS — thanks for this suggestion. I'm going to try the PCB edge mounting kit that fluxmonkey suggests first... will be much simpler if it works. I think the aim is for two 3 PCB stacks: all of board 2 behind each other and all of board 3 behind each other. the switches I've bought for this are pane...

Re: [AVAILABLE] Blacet VCO2100 + build thread

My boards arrived. I will be putting 3 of these behind a 4U panel (3" wide per VCO). I see now that there are no mounting holes on the #3 PCB and would love to take some advice on the best way to mount them. Currently thinking I could stack each type of board behind each other, using the hol...

Re: Front Panel Proof Reading Thread

Why did you corral the V/OCt jack behind knobs again? It was on the same line-row with the other VCOs for consistency. And there it was also free of knob interference when patched. Curious to hear your reasoning? I'm not 100% sure yet. partly I think it just looks better (maybe because the two FM i...

Re: Front Panel Proof Reading Thread

As always, I'd want a companion panel stuffed to the gills with mixers. But even by itself there's a LOT here. Add a bevy of mixers -and a couple or few VCAs, and it could be explored for a very. long. time. did you see this one? Artboard 1mixer-panel-preview.png mixer panel.png (made some progress...

Re: Front Panel Proof Reading Thread

@KSS — thank you very much for this. makes a whole lot of sense to do the two rows at the bottom like this and the switches look much better nested below the FM knob as you suggest. I realised after your last comment that the hordijk I use a lot has course & fine beside each other, so I was starting...

Re: Front Panel Proof Reading Thread

good call. wonder if I should also swap the columns so that 1V/OCT is also to the left of the tuning knobs? have also swapped the upper knobs for PWM as else where CV attenuator / mod level is above the base level/offset.

Re: Front Panel Proof Reading Thread

thank you all for very useful and constructive comments. I've made some adjustments... still thinking about what to do re: FM switches. tried labelling them 'FM MODE' but that didn't look right, also not sure about this long line with the switches in between the jack and the knob. I should also chec...

Re: [AVAILABLE] Blacet VCO2100 + build thread

My VCO panel & PCBs arrived here today. I'll probably stuff the board as much as I can with the parts I have on hand and then see what that leaves me to source. But I expect the LT1013 & LS318 to be tricky - I know I haven't got any of those. I'm still waiting on my boards (planning to build 3), bu...

mixer/filter panel for full 4U panel (7x17"). stereo mixer will have 1/4" jacks on the back of the boat for connection to patchbay/interface, etc. .....err.......not much. Nudge the quad mixer inputs if your bananas allow. You’re already a little off the usual full or half grid spacing. Do your soc...

quick note to say that I finished building / calibrating this a little while back and I absolutely love it. delays can sound very clean for BBD, but then the input sounds great when driven hard. thank you for making it available.

my B output periodically goes out of action and can be brought back to life by recalibrating the module, so worth checking on that before assuming that the chip is fried (unless of course this behaviour is a result of something being wrong with the chip!)

Can the Swedish clone really sound that nice? yes. fwiw, I have 73-75 DIY set (and have CGS '73 filter) and have played on an original system at Harvard. might not 'feel' the same as playing an original, but those circuits still sound great (even if they aren't a pinch on the true magnificence of t...
