Re: Moog Memorymoog sucessfully cloned

FIY, some folks would give limbs for the moog wheels. Out of my model D clone (on the back burner now) that was the most difficult part to find. When folks contact me asking about making their own clone I tell them to start with the wheels. I usually don't hear back from them after that.

You mentioned the RAMs earlier;
I was having trouble finding a good source for the 4334 ram then found the note in the service sheets that 6514 could also be used. I found the 6514 available new from one of my part sources.

Re: Questions on the Prophet 5

Which bits do you reckon would be unavailable? -- EB The DAC-71-CSB and MM5837N are hard to find but they're around. The MM5837N may be the worst but as Luismarka said, there is an alternative. Everything else I can sort between three vendors. Luismarka, thank you! I had seen your posts after I had...

Re: Questions on the Prophet 5

Honestly there isn't anything for the computer portion that isn't readily available besides the ram - for the rev 3.3 circuit that is. I'm intrigued with retro computing tech and I'm curious to tinker with it a bit. Or at least attempt to entertain the thought. A project I have on the back burner is...

Re: Questions on the Prophet 5

I already have a Pro One clone finished ;)

I am very excited to learn more about vintage cpu controlled analog synths. It’ll be nice to step away from the Arduino and walk the steps of the 80s synth engineers.

Re: Questions on the Prophet 5

Sweet! I was wondering what the differences between them were. Luckily I can easily get the 2732 ROMs and there is modified firmware available online. Looks doable. Certainly not easy, but possible! There’s only a couple of unavailable parts I need to source. Considering the age and popularity of th...

Questions on the Prophet 5

Although I have a few projects inline for me at the moment, I have sunk into the depths of learning about the Sequential Prophet 5 circuit. And dammit, I really want one. I'm curious to know if it's possible to clone/replicate the circuit. I've been compiling a BOM and it looks like I can obtain eve...

Re: Project PRO2021 - A Pro-One keyboard synth

Yeah I wouldn't recommend soldering connectors. But the wires within the shielded cables SC provided were so small I had to or else they'd slip out. Perhaps my tool wasn't good enough, but it was within the AWG rating. The cables I had used for everything else worked just fine. I think I used AWG-24...

You guys are twisting things and creating victims out of someone's opinion from their own experience and of course I'll be the pig for pointing that out because YOU, Sir Ruff made it about sexism where when I read it - I observed none of that. He's entitled to share his experience. Even if you don't...

Re: Mini-Modules : Minimoog DIY clone on its way.

I'm a fan of the original knobs suggested for this build as they're the odd-one-out from the 4 knob series. While 3 are used on the actual full mini (medium, large and pointer) the smaller ones suggested for this build are a perfect representation/nod to the original. Perfect for this compact panel....

Re: Project PRO2021 - A Pro-One keyboard synth

My note on the 8" keybed cable synthcube is supplying has been neglected several times - a few times on this thread and at least twice through email. I have extra material so one can put together an appropriate length cable. If anyone in the states are desperate I can help or point you to the materi...

Was complaining about the filter attack not being responsive - could have just been that the sustain and cutoff needed to be dialed down.

Isn't learning fun

Re: Transistor Matching Circuit

I’ve been working on getting PCBs fabricated for the MfOS go-nogo circuit recently. Already etched a proto but figured folks would be more inclined if there were a kit or pre-fabbed PCBs. Keep an eye out for the thread soon if interested.

Re: Project PRO2021 - A Pro-One keyboard synth

All calibrated and put together!!! Was probably one of the least painful tuning jobs I've had with a synth. This thing is mean 8-) Maybe it's because I've been in the assembly game for a while or due to premeditating this build for months but I had no issues with this other than wiring the power LED...

Re: Project PRO2021 - A Pro-One keyboard synth

Twas a long weekend :sb: Current status - added more zip ties, eyed out keybed cable length. About 2' is perfect for how I have the chassis held open - it's being held up by the lower chassis, propped up by a book and leaning against the parts drawer/back wall. First start up seems good! Power suppl...

Re: Project PRO2021 - A Pro-One keyboard synth

Received the rest of the hardware today. All seems good! Not sure if SC acknowledged my note on the keybed cable length. 8” will not reach and needs to be much longer to have it connected while the chassis is open for calibration. No need to send me one. Thanks for all the work on getting this thing...

Once you make up the diameter difference, thats pretty much it, you dont have to deal with the D portion of it Duh :hmm: The pot shafts have a little play I thought it was still not centered. So the diameter is 6mm? I can give this a shot; https://lovemyswitches.com/potentiometer-adapter-sleeve-6-0mm-to-6-35mm-shaft-adapter/ If they can't handle the set screw pressing against the void I could fill it with a shim or epoxy to cure my OCD  Edit: hey it's exactly what Altitude suggest b...
