Re: Generative modules for 7u 104hp

Focusing on the utilities mentioned is a great idea. Here is my current setup for generative patching (7u 104hp) https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/1325177

Subscribed. What are you using for your gate streams? Still Trigger Riot? Also curious about your preferred VCAs for this application.

Re: Case Dilemmas

It looks like you have a lot of small, focused instruments. I have all my modules in small cases for that very reason. When I get tired of a particular configuration, I rearrange to create a new instrument to explore. If I had all the options in a huge wall case, I think I would suffer from option p...

Re: Qu Bit Chord V2, 4ms Ensemble Oscillator or something else?

Plaits is extremely versatile for a small case. I already have an Assimil8or, so I don't mind using some of the channels with the Adventure Kid single cycle waveforms (https://www.adventurekid.se/akrt/waveforms/) to create chords when I want them. But it doesn't make sense to buy Assimil8or just to ...

Re: Qu Bit Chord V2, 4ms Ensemble Oscillator or something else?

I am in market for an interesting oscillator to add to my a musique concrete / drone / tape music rack which is based on two sampler players. I like what I've heard from Chord V2 and the 4ms Ensemble Oscillator. Chord sounds generally prettier while Ensemble seems to be way more expressive and "exp...

Re: Precision Adder with buttons instead of toggle switches?

No, you are right. I was imagining that you wanted to play the voltages by pressing buttons to add or subtract intervals. I wasn’t thinking about a sequence running through it (although you can sequence the Ellis itself).

Re: I am overwhelmed by my modules and need some help

I like to patch feedback loops. Rings through one of your filters and one of your mixers, then back into Rings. Lots to explore there.

Re: Noise into resonators.

I actually started with IR into Atom, which is an 18 hp version of Elements. I think it is better for this purpose than Rings, because you can feed signal into the exciter as well as the resonator sections. Also the built-in reverb in Elements is nice for modulating noise character. I didn’t like SM...

Re: Noise into resonators.

I have Interstellar Radio and love it. I have run it into SMR, which is a fine module, but I was underwhelmed by the results. I much prefer to run IR into Elements. For added enjoyment, feed one of the Elements outs back into the IR.

Re: fancyyyyy Rung Divisions: Rungler and Pulse Divider

I might as well stoke the flames a bit: I notice on the Fancyyyyy webpage (fancysynthesis.net) there is now a page for the Oscar oscillator, and it mentions that 2 Oscars can be connected to a wavefolder and a Grouch. I'm guessing that Grouch is the Rung Divisions offspring that we are all dying to ...

Eagerly awaiting the new module. In the meantime, my Rung Divisions and Elements clone finally ended up in the same case, and I tried rungling Elements for the first time. It's just awesome.

Re: Repeatability of patch

I don't want to repeat patches. I'll learn some tricks that I'll use for another patch but rebuilding a full patch sounds very, very dull to me. I'm in this camp, too. I make a patch that I enjoy listening to, explore it and listen to it, and then pull it out. Since I don't record anything, no one ...

Re: Favorite modular samplers

But Bitbox is probably better for midi/non-modular integration. Actually, I'm hoping that since I can plug a single TRS cable between the Micro and the Melisma, the Bitbox will actually be an amazing in-modular integration! :hihi: The Melisma can do a lot of polyphony (more than the Bitbox can hand...

Re: Module which unexpectedly blew you away?

Ieaskul F. Mobenthey Mr. Grassi. https://www.modulargrid.net/e/ieaskul-f-mobenthey-mister-grassi Not so easy to understand from the description. I picked up Mr. Grassi in a collection of used Mobenthey modules I bought. It's both an audio generator and a sample and hold, six actually. When touched ...

Re: Why no Eurorack piano module?

I tend to make 6U cases that I can play on my lap through headphones. So attaching an external MIDI piano or laptop to the modular isn't really of interest to me. And it isn't so much about sound (i.e., why would the OP want to make something that sounds like a traditional instrument?) as it is abou...

Funny you should mention it. I'm preparing a dedicated piano 6u case, after experimenting with the premise for years. Got a record in mind I've meaning to make; have a few etudes already but I'm not there yet. I would buy a physical modeling piano module in a heart beat. I make do with CV to Midi (...

Re: The modules that should exist (but don't)

I want a Quantussy Cell module. It's basically an LFO combined with two sample and holds. https://pugix.com/synth/eurorack-quantussy-cells/ Like a Generic Quantussy Cell, but with the LFO FM connection being external. The specifications: VC LFO with manually variable shape (saw to triangle to ramp)...

Erm, I’m not sure what I’ve done here, but in one evening with Sprott I’ve managed to make it lock up about a dozen times 😂 I am blown away by the IFM system. I’m not sure all of my decisions about the rest of the case were that sensible (do I really need a dedicated vca given the denums? How can I...

Hi, Just wondering how to connect the Drezno, Lipsk and Jena - which order to start with? Any suggestions would be appreciated. At a later date I may get two of the Lipsk. Thanks! If you put Drezno through Lipsk into Jena, you can then use Jena to modify its own input, which can be fun. Drezno -> J...
