Re: New money pit

check out the Lzx sensory translator
most of the time it is more interesting to use audio as an indirect source.
else it becomes something like a winamp moving line. but if you use it to steer envelopes and triggers, the image moves with
the music way more complex, thus more engaging.

Re: New money pit

+1 to all what joem said. I'm a DIY person too. and have also designed some modules. Is is worth mentioning that even if you get a Visual Cortex and some of the older models, you can totally make cool video with them. The discontinued modules are awesome too! if you get your hands on those, they are...

I'm building a Lunetta Noise-focussed synth.
for now it is all on perfboard, but I'm going to make pcb's out of them
it works on 9v .

Re: backup camera that uses wallwart?

try looking for security camera's. ccd. you can find those powered on 12v .
make sure they don't have automatic white balance and focus. because that sucks while doing feedback

Re: Video game controller for CV

this is a bit in the same direction: Ming Mecca Control core. Uses a NES controller, so no bluetooth or Pi
But interesting in the way it is configured. - I mean the auto trigger modes and CV output with the arrow pads.

Re: Are group buys a thing here?

I've organised a few (video synth related) groupbuys recently. This is my experience: 1: Start a thread with your plan, and some info about the parts. lets say we need 250 pcs for it to get interesting (cheap) Calculate your precise costs, don't forget VAT, shipping & packaging. State this cost clea...

Re: PCBs as Front Panels ?

we were taking about potmeter hole diameters and such. so this is the perfect tool (at least for me. I use this all the time when measuring hole sizes)
You can find youtube tutorials on how to use it, or buy a digital one instead. I've not seen the dial ones before.

Re: Non-glitchy analog video mixer?

disregard my previous post. I was linking the easy part to the actual mixing of B&W video,
which is less complicated because you would need only 1 Fader module

the sync signal is the same for B&W as for color (as far as I know)

hah. for some reason I forgot to mention this. sorry about that.
I was already thinking about the next stage, mixing with the Fader module and how that would work with 3 video signals.

Re: Non-glitchy analog video mixer?

Look at the (open source) LZX Cadet series.
B/W analog mixing is easy. Color is possible, but a bit more complex. There was a thread on the LZX community forum about this.

if you are up to it, you could build a big standalone machine from the schematics.

Re: What is your favorite control device?

I mainly use clocks & dividers & logic, phase offsetted lfo's and vco's, Lorentz attractors (O&c app), voltage controlled envelopes, and feedback systems (audiorate and CV, in the form of resonant EQ's and matrix mixers) to control my patches. However, sometimes I want to have a little bit more cont...

Re: My love for Fixed Filter Banks.....FFB

If you have demo's I'd love to hear them! The short time I played with it at DMF was not enough :) and speaking of resonant filters, I also have a module that does feedbacked sculpting, called the 'Monotropa' , which was inspired by feedbacking the Serge Resonant EQ (I love that module so much I bui...

Where do you get your pcb panels made?

The place I normally use makes a lot of scratches on my (14HP) panel pcb's lately, which make them unusable.

I'm trying to program my World core with the Parallax Prop. I'm using the Spin Propeller tool.
Do I need to power the World Core pcb?
Because the Spin tool can't find the Propeller chip (during "Identify Hardware")

note: I have some space Control Core pcb's, if anyone is interested
