MI Warps. I have three right now.
For VCOs Plague of Demons or fmOGRE are great in pairs to modulate one another.

No one gives a real shit about breakfast cereal or has breakfast cereal communities with enough people to freak out of fruity nuggets vs pebbles as far as I know yet. Good point. On that topic, if we're talking about clones of cereal vs clones of synths, I've never had a cloned cereal that tasted l...

Welcome! In the thick of your NE570 compander book right now. Your writings have been incredibly helpful for understanding synth circuit design. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all you've done to help sdiy. :hail:

I am wondering what does that mean exactly. And does anybody have one with "normal operating regions" and can point out the differences? :hail: By normal he means within the pt2399s suggested operation. None of that Zippery, glitchy, feedback, ear crunching madness that many modular makers enjoy so...

Re: Another beginner rack, but not a musician!

If you can find an Erica black clock v! for cheap, I think it would fulfill your needs instead of PNW for now. Looks like the build is quite capable otherwise and kudos for the dirty glitch. There is an immense amount of material in there for someone starting out. You can easily sculpt it with the f...

I think that was somebody else on the thread. I'm the one taking issue with the notion that copying a good design is evil. I don't think anyone has used the word evil here. Lazy, lame, and shitty have been used a few times. All seem apt to me. Go into any smaller niche of consumerism and you'll find...

Re: Best course of action to remove a power connector?

It looks like the reason for soldering the power connector this way is because the back of the +12V pin could touch the underneath of the thonkicon socket and produce a short between +12 and ground when no jack is plugged in. An alternate strategy to prevent this would be to put a bit of insulating...

Love sleeping in the studio sometimes as well. Be sure to give them the Cider house rules treatment though. "Good night, you princes of workflow, you kings of sound"

Respect. There's an entire other way of reaching our goals that doesn't involve marketing, posturing, gross exploitation and other BS. Love what this societal structure has allowed, but hate that it's so resistant to cutting out the bullshit and moving forward.

I think that depends on one's definition of "very good." Yes, he's very good at making money, and that's fine if some people use that as a measuring stick for life's successes. Personally, I'd rather be good at something else... like not being a media whore. Agreed, but, for the most part when I he...

One would think. But if B came out with a DAW I have no doubts that B fans would follow. Brand loyalty is such a weird thing. I grew up with a kid who loved Mtn Dew. No seriously, he looooved it. He always had a bottle of Mtn Dew in his hand. Soon enough, people thought it was weird when he didn’t ...

^ as usual KSS summed up the issues with this perfectly. Guilty of feeding the beast with mild outrage myself, but seriously, no one he targets will ever get here before they make an initial cheap B purchase. then comes either shame or defense. Easy game for Uli to win either way.

I think you made the right choice. Audacity is fine for simple recording and snipping, but ableton 10 is fantastic for doing the same and has much more under the hood to explore later.

I don't want to throw anyone under the bus, but I have started to notice that boards from this one vendor in particular tend to be much more delicate than others, this one being the most recent and the worst quality. User error is certainly possible, maybe it's coincidence. Has anyone else had this...

Don't know about the moisturizer, though it looks quite good. A pedal I really enjoy with the lyra is the snazzy FX wow and flutter. It allows you to use the delays on the lyra in the reverb setting and responds really well to changes in amplitude of the signal, giving nice warbly broken tape sounds....

If you want to get very close, the reSEMble fits the bill. I side by sided it with a two voice and was quite pleased with the similarities. Got it, still worth it for sure to eat shipping and grab the right jacks to get it set up. I prefer cinch, but don't mind a little smaller. Thanks for the clarification, much appreciated. Will there be a BOM update for the 0603 parts?

Happy to order new jacks, but couldn't you use cinch jacks and solder onto the pcb with a lead directly after mounting them? Edit: Might need a little drilling and clipping, but should still work. If not , any US buyers want me to set up a small group buy on these and the switches to save shipping/p...

Re: Neutron sound Dust of Time.

Thanks. I think the Teensy is probably okay, too. I didn't cut the USB power path, so I was able to load the firmware without powering-up the module. (I never update Teensy-based modules while they're drawing rack power, so it's never an issue.) Been all through the catalogs of the usual suspects (...
