wanted: Edirol V-4 service/repair manual

I am interested in modding my V4, but not without referencing its service manual. No luck finding one so far. Does it even exist?

Potentiometer smoothing

Hi all. Quick very basic question: on my current video enhancer circuit bending project I have breadboarded a potentiometer that I need to be 'smoother' if that makes sense. It now does nothing when rotating towards either the right or left hand side and pretty much makes a hard switch when it reach...

Not yet, I am having difficulties converting the midi clock from my zaquencer to cv clock. Bought a Midi Bastl to do the job but it's not working. I am talking to the people at Bastl who are helping me sort out the problem. Hacking the dvm2000 is next on my list.

Feeding rhythms into a Panasonic ave-5/blaupunkt dvm-2000

I own a mint Panasonic ave-5 (well a blaupunkt dvm-2000 which is the same machine in a slightly different enclosure) which I am going to be circuit bending following some useful guidelines I found in various places online. One thing I have not found but would like to try as an experiment is to feed ...

Well, thought I was set to try this one but it turns out a doepfer mcv4 does not accept Midi clock, which is what I need to sequence the Kastle (at least that's what I think I need when I want the kastle to spit out sounds to the zaquencer's beat). Any tips on an affordable alternative? (I came acro...

Euroblocks, ey? That actually sounds interesting. But want to try using cables with plugs on them first - for the sake of convenience. Been feeding and feedbacking signals into cheap video effects mixers, messing with video signals and potentiometers for while now, and I know what results I am likel...

Hey thanks for your comments. I realize I should have mentioned I want to use this as a live video patcher and distorting the signal is what I am after; to really mess things up. But in order to see the results I need one output to go to a tv monitor. Sorry I forgot to point that out. Also I will ho...

Patchbay: 15 in to 1 out?

Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to patch this thing so all of its channels are directed to a single output. I will be testing it by simply trying sometime next week, but it would be of great help if anyone here knows how to do this? https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/39441_image1_2.jpg...

Sequencing Bastl Kastle with a zaquencer

Hi all,
I want to sequence a Bastl Kastle with a zaquencer and a Midi to cv converter. Who can tell me if this is indeed as easy as it sounds?
Thanks

Zaquencer BPM

Zaquencer users out there I have a question to which I can't find the answer on the Zaquencer website so I am hoping you can tell me: What are the minimum and maximum BPM values on the Zaquencer? I keep thinking I found out about the Zaq reading a post on here in which it was said it goes down to 1B...

Are both ends midi plug size or is one small like a pre USB PC keyboard?
@astrolabe23 Yeah, turns out you were right: one end is one of those pre USB pc plugs.

Midi cable mystery - advice needed

Okay so here is a riddle What has 6 pins on one end and 5 holes on the other? Apparently the Vestax Pad One 6 pin MIDI din (m) ⇔ 5 pin MIDI din (f) converter cable has. Unfortunately, I am unable to find any such thing anywhere. Do any of you know where to get one of these online? (If you're going t...

StrongWrong, really curious to hear about your findings! Have you noticed how the sample start and end knobs (in blue mode) vary in their behaviors with different samples? With longer samples, the sample start knob seems very precise and capable of single digit variations whereas the end knob appear...

StrongWrong, Thanks for clarifying and I am definitely going to try embedding the lowest octave notes into a sequence to automatically select a different sample! Also, thanks for the audio in mono to mono cable tip: I found it nearly impossible to sample with MG using the audio in because it's so ho...

Hi Pete,

I was wondering if it is possible to order a midi gal as a DIY kit. I am happy to do the soldering but looking at the BOM I am not sure if I will be able to get hold of all the necessary components locally.

I took ages to decide before I bought one. Finally went for it and can't say I am disappointed.
Could have done without the bit crusher, though.
