Re: Pit Modular Case & Knurlies

I have a Pittsburgh 208 and I took out the sliding nuts and put threaded strips in. I also bought knurlies. It was not hard to do. I bought the threaded strips from Digikey which were 84hp in length. I had to buy three and cut some short strips to fill out the rest of the space. I had to get knurlie...

Re: Best random generator for musical phrases

I’m a fan of Byte Beats. Usually audio rate glitchy 8 bit sounds they make good semi random CV sources. Two o_C is a randomized and quantizing force. You could get two at 8hp and have quantizing randomizing computer in 16hp. Tinrs Tuesday is pretty neat but might sound a little too musical if you’re...

Re: Best random generator for musical phrases

Ornament and Crime has so many random options and most are quantized. It’s like four quantized Turing machines, or Euclidean, integer sequences, or byte beat, and there’s the sequencer when you’re not feeling so random. There’s a few modes that generate random chord sequences. There’s too many optio...

Re: Oscillator for "organic" instrument

Digital vs analog is a non issue for me. I’m more interested in sounds and options. The digital oscillators are some of my favorites because they have so many options. Braids is amazingly versatile and you get the built in VCA and Quantizer. Hard to reproduce this as an analog module at the same siz...

Re: Buy Maths, just buy Maths

In all seriousness, I spent time yesterday looking at Tides, Quadrax, Stages, etc. Finally, I came across this video: Maths Without Maths https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJFiwu4pcNY which made me realize how much value for the money and HP you get with Maths. I'm still getting a replacement panel, ...

Re: Buy Maths, just buy Maths

I think Maths is great. I have wondered why it can’t be smaller. As I think about it it does have many jacks and knobs. You could probably make it a little smaller but not a whole lot smaller without hurting usage.

This post makes no opinion on whether you should buy Maths or not.

Ornament and Crime. I get a lot of use out of the different modes. I can always find a place to use it in a patch. There are so many modes and options it’s always good for an inspirational boost.

I have the 4MS mix four, its 10hp but is also a four channel mixer along with a headphone out. I have the 1U Intellijel headphone out which works but doesn’t have another output, you need a separate line out module.

Re: Ornament + Crime

I had a couple questions about bytebeats and viznutcracker sweet! If understand correctly bytebeats work through cycles and have a pattern they follow. I’d like to use generate CV sequences and I’d like to control the length of the sequence. Using step mode the sequences end up being really long mor...

Re: cv led plugs

That first video didn’t use a resistor. i thought you’d need a resistor to limit current or you’d burn out the LED? You could have +/-5vto +/-10v Running through the LED. What am I missing? Some LEDs have a built in resistor but that wasn’t mentioned here.

Re: 2hp XAOC Poti?

Is there a schematic for this? Or is it as simple as connecting each of the three pairs of pins on the back of Batumi with one of three switches? I’d like to make one of these. Yes, it's as easy as connecting each jumper cable from one pin to another. I followed the pictures on Pusherman's website ...

Re: What's in your 4U Palette?

I bought a Palette case and the 1U Stereo Line Out. The Palette is pretty awesome. Works great and looks good. It’s a good size for thinking about a couple modules or contained ideas. The depth isn’t a problem though I do have a module that doesn’t fit. Here’s a question: I have the Stereo Line Out,...

Re: Is the world ready for PCB front panels?

My first reaction is that I prefer aluminum panels. On reflection I have to admit the modules I own with PCB panels works just as well and there are lots of really creative and practical examples of PCB panels, some of which could not have been made with an aluminum panel. TSNM, Rene, Instruo are so...

What do you use for the out on your 4u palette? I'm split between the 1u headphone out or the 1u line out. Really I'd like to have both can they be connected internally? I'd use the headphone often but the line out would get a lot of use. I think you can use both. In the Stereo Line Out 1U manual, ...
