Re: Twisted Electrons MEGAfm

Omg SoR3 sounds incredible!
:sb:
Thanks for switching me on to that.

I agree, I just need to see a hands on demo of this unit and then I'll likely be ordering.

Re: New flat - room acoustics questions

I'd position the monitors so they are aiming at the most absorbant or refractive (not flat) surface, with the listening position in between. Positioned under the angled roof windows, they are aiming at that flat highly reflective wall. I'd prefer them along the flat wall, facing the angled ceiling, ...

Re: How to keep bass mono?

What drum machine are you using that can't route out the kick on a separate out and keep it from the Main mix? I can't think of one that is restricted like that. TR-08 and TR-09, unless using USB. Ouch, that's a shame. I went the tr8 and it's good enough for me (although not my main machine) so ign...

Re: New flat - room acoustics questions

SO is the barrier, sorry mate. Sound transference through the structure (that annoys neighbours) isn't what you're focussed on, you want sound diffusion and reduced reflections. The ceiling and floor insulation you note functions like the sides of a pinball machine - keeps the balls inside to annoy ...

Re: How to keep bass mono?

Do you have multiple outs on your drum generator? If so just run the stereo out for all your hats, Snares other perc etc... and then run the kick on an individual out. Sampling is an idea as well! Or just be a muff and build a dedicated drum skiff!!! :) Thanks for the input but not sure it will wor...

Re: The Joys of Producing Rap Beats

Hi BD Once I understood how to do trap style hats on my digitakt using per step p locks, I abused that function like my first copy of pauls boutique on cassette. Went way over board with it so can't share, but don't care - it was fun! My tip: turn off quantise for 64 step live pass. Start real rough...

Re: Benefits of recording to reel to reel

Listening to your bc link, which is really good, I think it stylistically fits to do anything that makes your recording more gritty and less clean. Anything characterful. I'd try hitting the tape hard; running the mix through pedals and fx on the way to the tape; blasting it through your monitors an...

Re: New flat - room acoustics questions

Before you move in, do the boring but practical stuff of room treatment. I like the goal of 'totally dead' as that's basically practically impossible in a residential space. I'd target the floor first as it'll especially cop the angled ceiling reflections. I'd go green glue under the thickest carpet...

Re: Please have a listen and tell me if I’m on the right track

Fun stuff Ben, keep making more music. You're on the right track. I liked the snare better in the rough mix. The reverb on v2 is a bit much. I'd consider burying the drums in the mix so they are there but not focused on. I'd also roll off the high end snap on the snare and make it much duller. Guita...

Have any Wigglers been down this path and decided upon a digital desk? If so, any regrets? What about using external hardware effects with digital desks like the OP wants? I'm not trying to derail the OPs goal here, this just seems relevant considering the post above, which is the gold standard in f...

Re: Gamechanger Audio Light Pedal

The perfect circuit demo was great at presenting the character of the unit. I'm surprised at how nasty (in a good way) it sounds. For industrial sounds this would be great. But I don't understand what the light is doing. Isn't the audio going through one end of the spring and out the other anyway? I...

Oh my, I love this thing. The assignable cv inputs are genius. My first jam I hooked it up to my dfam and had a lot of fun. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I'm after strange sounds and this suits that goal when I want it to. Knob feel is great. Mini shafts are mini shafts, not preferred but wo...

Let's see if they update the software for that, including the other suggestion he made about a feedback destroyer (which was more relevant to me) before we start making conclusions about the designers. A wet dry issue would be easy to miss during testing because many, including myself, hook up these...

Re: Small Powered Amplifier for Patch Creation, etc.

The Blackstar Fly 3 works for me. It's onboard tone and delay fx aren't any good but the sound from it is fine, very neutral. The stereo aux in and headphone out is great for playing bass or guitar along with your fav songs (no volume control on the aux in so I use the source). I'd grab the extensio...

Re: New gear from Moog, what would you like to see happen.?

I want them to slow down and do less. Focus on maintaining the brand and market share they have. Quietly wait for this crazy period to die down, and be prepared to entice new customers up from the lower tier of synth-ness who become ready to upgrade from that tier. Maintaining quality control will b...

I suggest a 2 stage workflow, that you then choose gear to match: 1- programming and sequencing - the DT is great for this. Persevere with it! +1 to all previous suggestions on it. Spend the time to load in to it samples that inspire you. This stage also includes using the DT midi out to sequence ot...

I’m sure the Korg version would have proper midi implementation, and maybe even MPE support. I hope so too but Korg haven't the greatest history with supporting midi. I'd never buy one of their products prior to its midi functionality (that I'd actually need) being finalised. This thing looks great...

But nicely jammable in many ways too since there are filters also ( for my taste a tiny bit to small adjustment range on the filters/ while it helps on the other side to never going to much off ) I'm assuming you meant filters on the benidub, not the Doc A.
