Re: PCBs as Front Panels ?

I no longer use pcbway for non-panel PCB. I use JLC now. If the JLC PCB panels look that good I may not be using pcbcart.com for panels either. Everything JLC now. As I said before, there were a lot of problems with white silkscreen from PCBway. more than one order was bad. At the moment I'm using ...

Re: OP Amp Troubleshooting

Thank you for your patience. As I said, this is my first design, and as such I don’t even have a schematic CAD program. What did you use to make that? I appreciate the help and will try to provide more info up front. Hi, there are plenty of such program: Kicad, EasyEDA, TinyCAD, ... I personally us...

DipTrace is free for small circuits (less than 300 pins). You can easily create your own components and your own patterns.

Re: PCBs as Front Panels ?

I see so many builders here... is there a network to trade complete, homemade modules? I know about the trades thread, but it seems more for parts and unbuilt kits, etc. What about a place to trade 1:1 finished modules? Must be loads of folks like me who order 5 units from china but only need 2 or ...

Re: Re:

Yeah it’s definitely more rigid. I think most euro size aluminium panels are 2mm but the 1.6mm are suffice providing your panels aren’t too big. FWIW, ground plane won’t add anything to rigidity as it’s something like 0.03mm thick. My largest panel measures 20 hp (see photo) and, even with 1.6 mm a...

Re:

I used AllPCB aluminum process, I put the silkscreen on the back so on the Aluminum side. As Raph points out, the milling was pretty rough; for what I'm doing that doesn't matter much except for the mounting holes, which look less than professional. I prefer ovals (to be able to snug things up on t...

Mimetic digitalis also has CV for X and Y axis, and also for the overall 16 steps sequence.
Plus a trigger input to jump to a random step (R) to break an arppegio... It's a nice seq for 10 hp.

Re: Continuous routing / switching by CV control

Hey folks, Are there any switches out there which can route a signal by control voltage, not by clock gates? In other words an input X is routed to: A if the CV is 1v B if the CV is 2v C if the CV is 3v D if the CV is 4v ...and so on? Ladik S-210 (4ch Switch) can do that for few money, but not for ...

Following this thread, I started building my new very simple case, a la "Doepfer low cost cases". It will be an 18U * 197HP, or 1182HP. This is not a standard value (2x84 = 168HP is much more standard) because I choose to buy 1m rails, much cheaper than the rails sold in the synth shops. I take my r...

Random, on the other hand, is like throwing darts at the paper. If you are good at darts, most will be near the center (giving a "normal" distribution) and the wave form of "where the darts hit over time" will be more or less flat with spikes. If you are less good, the darts are evenly distributed ...
