Re: Trapezoid VCO

Yeh I'll look into that. This is a really good VCO. The more time you spend with it the more you find. At first I thought the quadrature outputs were only useful for LFO duties but in audio rate - adding and subtracting the waveforms creates a lot of really interesting wave shapes. I am glad that y...

Maybe start a poll/interest thread to see if you can get enough people to convince gieskes to make a batch? I would definitely take a couple of pcbs if he ever makes them available again.

I use Front Panel Express for one-off designs, and metalphoto for group buys. FPE software is easy to use once you are used to it. I designed a panel for this module a while back. The only issue is that people may not want to build 4 modules behind a single panel... https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum...

My last build post was too clean, so here's something completely different.

Built with parts I had on hand, using no layout for the PCB. Sounds like it looks...horrible. I am very happy with it.

Finally finished the second frequency shifter I started building early this year. The customer's was done over two months ago. I could have been done a bit sooner, but a couple of easy-to-build kits jumped the line.

Can you post pictures of both sides of the board?

Transistors can fail short, so it's possible that Q7 failed when 12v was shorted to ground.

C4 is right by Q7, and is connected to 12v and ground. Seems to be the most likely source of the short, if that's the area the power cable was pressing on.

This looks to be worth the $99 just for the fx. Korg is consistently the most interesting of the big synth companies.

Without seeing a picture, I'm guessing that the leads of either C1 or C2 are not cut flush to the board. When you installed the new module, its power cable pushed the leads of one of those two caps together, shorting +12v to ground. Like I said, just a guess, but for sure +12v was shorted to ground ...

I‘m finally starting my Eurorack journey after many years of avoiding this rabbit hole :hihi: And this module sounds really awesome! Since it‘s out of stock in the shop at the moment, will there be more coming, or is it completely out of production? Wondering about this one as well, since I am sell...

Thanks for the thorough post Revok! I did read the whole e-m build thread, so I remember Jurgen's comments about tracking not being a big priority. I hadn't thought of calibrating it in relation to an input signal though, so that's a very helpful idea. Luka, I've recorded a bit of experimenting with...

https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/3992_img4040_1.jpg So here's my contribution to this thread. I used the onboard power supply and added a dedicated feedback knob as mentioned by Revok. For the mic input, I just wired the XLR and 1/4" jacks together as they will never be plugged in at the ...

I'm surprised CGS hasn't been mentioned yet. Ken has put some really great stuff out over the years, with plenty of weirdness, and that's before he became the first person to offer licensed Serge designs to the DIY community.

Re: Weird, unique DIY modules

One can't help but feel sympathy for his dogs, who are ever-present in his workshop. They have to experience all the chaos with much more sensitive ears. Many of his demo videos show the a module in action, and then cut to the dog for a reaction. Ridiculous concern trolling of a generous and kind m...

Hamburger Lady duck call?

Does anyone know of what kind of duck call Genesis used for this song? I need one for reasons.

Bonus if I can avoid giving reality tv "stars" any money.
