Re: Catch me up on interesting modules released between last summer and now.

Definitely intrigued by the 2hp comp if it sounds good... Looking into some of these other things. Thank you.

Re: Finally found something better than a Geiger Counter

I really enjoy the Geiger counter guitar pedal for making loud trebley broken sounding gated feedback. I have plugged the synth into it a few times and it didn't jive... Would be curious to mess with the module version though

What's the point of walking this earth if one cannot differentiate himself from the mindless masses, the riffraff, the scum of the earth.
Marketing the idea of individualism to people largely results in mindless consumerism, alienation and social control.

Re: existential crisis in eurorack

You can use the same tools to make bad edm music or pretentious electroacoustic fluff that people at universities jack off to. I get that the consumerism is annoying but at the end of the day fuck it I'm not going to not buy guitar pedal x because wanker z uses it. Focus on musical ideas more maybe....

Catch me up on interesting modules released between last summer and now.

Haven't been on here or keeping up much since last summer. Anyone want to fill me in on what cool new modules I might have slept on? Thank you.

Re: Good modules for chain reaction patches?

I also am in support of using switches for this. Recently I have been having a lot of fun using the NLC Bindubba sequencer to these ends. It outputs a separate gate for each step and you can clock it up and down, change direction etc. You make the step wander through a grid of 4 X 4 in weird ways an...

Re: Guitar into synth and the mix - newbie!

You might look into a module like the Doepfer A-119 which outputs a voltage for the volume of the sound and then sends a gate when it crosses a volume threshold. I think there are some other modules like the 4MS SMR that bandpass the signal and have env followers on each band, correct me if this is ...

Re: Best reverb in 2019 in eurorack?

I have gotten a pretty decent sound out of running a send from my mixer through a spring ray into my erbe verb. Both of these reverbs leave something to be desired but are pretty nice together. My experience with the clouds reverb is that its kind of a one trick wonder but I haven't messed with the ...

Re: Guitar into synth and the mix - newbie!

My moogerfooger ring mod and LPF have sort of taken over my desire to plug my guitar into my eurorack system. The thought of adding a eurorack rig to my pedal board seems impractical... however, it is always fun to experiment in and see what kind of weird guitar tones you can get out of your synth. ...

Re: Which direction to move DONE/INTUSTRIAL

The 2hp Freez has served me surprisingly well in make weird gritty industrial sounding music. Bucket Brigade Delay, Spring reverb, Samplers, granular, buffer modules... Phase Locked Loops, Wave Multipliers, Ring Mods... These are all good things. I see the Chronoblob on your list which has a hold se...

Re: Behringer System 55

Yeah, uhhh why isn't anyone talking about the S-trig stuff here? I'm indifferent to some of the strong feelings surrounding Behringer, the model d remake seemed acceptable, the politics and business model are questionable, the affordability is commendable, (who cares etc) the sequencer looks like so...

1010 Bitbox as CV sampler

I think I saw that this is possible awhile back if you load samples onto the SD card. I just messed a bit with recording CV into the Input and it seems to work on a basic level. I am using the FX outs which supposedly arent DC coupled. Any have any further experience with this? Would love to be able...

One of my bandmates uses a Gonkulator and it sounds pretty dirty and great. Kinda the opposite of the cleaner Moog Ring Mod. Someone recently told me that Trump's trade tarriffs had something to do with why Moogerfoogers arent being made anymore. I wonder if other pedal companies like DOD were affec...

Using a midi controller with the Alyseum to recall routings seems pretty handy for changing song structures and more performance based things. Looking forward to repurposing my Keystep to these ends. Any problems with loud clicks when switching channels?

Thank you. I can't remember how many channels were used. Maybe 4? Basically switched octaves / sequences on the same patch and recorded a few takes into bitbox. Still getting to know the Bitbox. I think each one had about three sine waves then I patched more of a lead voice with a phase locked loop,...

The Alyseum Matrix looks kind of overwhelming. Really fun to imagine all of the possibilities. The workflow looks a bit tedious without the software and I happen to have an old mac... Probably wouldnt be the worst thing if you never unpatched most of your synthesizer. Unfortunately I'm not in a posi...

Anything new in this department in 2019? I'm intrigued by the WMD SSM and Hinton SwitchMix for sending CV to different voices. Being able to shift between presets with CV would be cool and the sort of basic playability of the hinton is also something desirable. Also planning on using it for 1v/o stu...
