Re: Nord Stage 3 and eurorack ??

OK, simple implementation would be to get just "clock" in or out via midi. This would allow me timing control on things like the Nord's Arp, and delay/effects. But I bought the Nord because I lacked a good piano and keyboard controller. Other good options I thought about were Yamaha or Kawai or Kurs...

Re: Nord Stage 3 and eurorack ??

But all that aside...... if you have ever had private-time with a full-size keyboard that sounded like real piano (or WAS a realpiano)..... then you might know what it is like. As a bad college student, I broke=in to the construction area, where the small college auditorium was empty, except for the...

Nord Stage 3 and eurorack ??

Second-of all .... I just got the Nord Stage 3 (73 compact). First of all .... I have a good eurorack setup. Third of all..... just the Nord synth section alone.... is worth it. I'm not sure I need any more than a common "clock connection" with my separate eurorack gear. What's the best solution for...

Rohde & Schwarz RTB2004
Useful and expensive.
Plus a little difficult to learn.

But the touch-display is exquisite, and mouse controllable.

Re: What is the most random, random-generator still in production?

I suppose you can configure a typical "sample and hold" to not only sample the available noise source..... but then have another "sample and hold" down-the-line, to sample what was sampled just prior...but differently.
I'm not an Engineer.... but let's try different things ??

Re: What is the most random, random-generator still in production?

I have the SSF "URA", SSF "Rainbow" noise unit, AJH "Sample Hold and Slew" (has built-in noise), .....an old test unit, General Radio 1382....(white/pink/USASI type noise selection..... semiconductor type), ...and somewhere in storage, an older GR test unit that uses vacuum tubes. I really can't acc...

Re: What is the most random, random-generator still in production?

All discussions come back to "noise". Noise is the most random. Noise from space ...aka radio waves or space waves from distant stars are the most organic. Remember the old days when there would be a TV (or radio) open signal ??....audio and visual hash.....fuzzy and rather exotic if you think about...

Circuit board populated. All the parts for MFOS stuff are stocked by Soundtronics in the UK. I imagine Synthcube will do the same in the US.

Re: the DIY cases thread!

I'm sort of surprised, why there are not power supplies offered over 2.5 or 3,4,5, or 6 amps.
My Tiptop "Mantis" audio case is 3 amps (2x 84).... and it barely keeps-up with my power-hungry modules.

It actually fits in a 3u size rack space, if you can find the mounting faceplate (special order).

Re: the DIY cases thread!

I can answer the power question. I've posted elswhere here... that there is avabailable elsewhere.... a 6amp switching supply..... often very cheaply found on ebay. Normally $900... it's around 100-200 american dollars.... lightly used or never used. It is called LK 2320 All my modules are powered b...

Re: the DIY cases thread!

Thank you.
My rack has over 20 modules... and it is is very difficullt to power all 20 (actually i have about 24..)
Most rack power supplies are about 1.5 amps at the most (xx317 type. I need around 2.5 amps.... so there needs to be an extereior porwer supply.

Re: MFOS Quad Timbre Bank, Eurorack

I will test the actual current draw, and post the results here. + 30mA seems rather small or weak for eight active chips, hmmmmm. Maybe that's at idle ?? We could look at the opamp spec sheets, and do some maths..... ?? but our best guesses would be surpassed by measuring the actual working chips/ u...

My purpose=made drone machine 126hp x2. Made in my apartment, with Festool tools. The wood is African Mahogany, and stained with alcohol dyes then an oil-based stain, then clear-coated with shellac sealer, and finally a water-based oil-modified gloss clearcoat. 20201102_112521[1].jpg 20201102_112511...
