Re: Best logic modules?

For me it is Frequency Central Deep Thought. It is fairly large, but I like large modules in general. It has 2 in and a 7 outs. It is also a easy diy build and can be made for less than $70 so that’s the one for me. I put two synced trigger streams in, and I get a multitude triggers out. C is for co...

Initially it was, I just riffed on all the similar posts out there. But I appreciate the group effort of turning it into a little more than just a joke.

Re: Your go to final VCA?

Why final vca? My end of chain is a stereo mixer and a compressor. Just curious what are you all doing with a "Final VCA"? That would be the last stage of a single synth voice. With gaps of silence in between notes. Obviously if you do a whole mix within the euro environment it would not make much ...

Best passive mult in 2020?

Bring it on! I’m looking for the best passive mult. If you have a video that would be awesome. Currently leaning towards the Pittsburgh modular one because it can do both CV AND audio! Plus it got round holes for the screws, so there will surely be a gap with my Threaded strips! Bonus ventilation. W...

Re: I'm sorry, really, but I'd like your opinions re QPAS or Stereo Dipole or Parallax

Parallax looks to me to be a very quick to learn and satisfying module. It is also a bit cheaper, as you already know. But to be honest, in my experience, experimenting with two mono filters and a few attenuverters and offset utilies, inverters and such will be a great learning tool if you are new t...

1. Get into some backwoods diy group buy. 2. Spend a huge load of cash on components. 3. Realize how bad your eyesight really is. 4. Understand that your soldering skills and tools are totally inadequate. 5. Put together a mutable instrument clone. 6. Try to flash the PIC using the laptop you happen...

Start with plaits, optomix, stereo dipole and maths if you really want to stick to this. All them modules will be useful down the road wherever it may lead to.

Re: Endorphines 6HP

Just tried to use the Milky Way as last VCA for a stereo bass patch. Works great. I was not impressed previously, but this added functionality makes it a keeper. Clean and fast, responds great to a snappy dynamic envelope. The VCA is also prior to the FX so that reverb tails stays alive if you want ...

After going through a few modules last year and trying to find my optimal setup in 168 HP, I finally feel my rack is in a great spot:

Here is what it looks like this week. The upper row is my test bench. Lots of play with triggers and clocks going on and my current favorite is Bartos Flur II.

Re: Best random generator for musical phrases

A couple of non synced complex LFOs into Bartos Flour II by frequency central will toss out CV that can be locked to scales in a controlled but random fashion. Plus it will deliver various gates also at any time, in a very playful and fun way.

Whom? Your envelopes? The S1's envelopes?
All my ADSRs are by frequency central, but yes, I run the signal through the countour 1 to ramp the attack. Basically just slewing them.

Re: Am I not creative enough or do I miss some important modules?

To me your rack looks like a basic west coast monosynth. Basically a single synth voice. So just like most synth voices it will often have the same flavor bass or lead sounds. The fundamentals are healthy, but to make it more alive something like a Turing or marbles might spice things up. Sequencing...

Re: Rossum Morpheus and Make Noise Qpas comparison

I’m interested in this also. My main filter is the stereo Dipole, but I am looking for something like a resonator to add shimmer and movement as a stereo fix send. It would be a wet/dry processor rather than a traditional filter. The Rossum unit definitely seems highly capable but it looks to me tha...

It’s a very hard medium to control. Unlike VSTs and a cracked version of Ableton you are not going to be successful rolling your own tunes with a Eurorack setup and make it sound good anytime soon. If it’s going to be mainstream to make odd synth based noise I’m in support of this.

Re: Ginko Sampleslicer timing

How does it work with a clock from inside the Eurorack environment? If that works and feels tight, it is most likely the settings as far as clock and latency compensation in Ableton. You can always download a trigger sample and loop that in Ableton on a separate output on the sound card, if the card...

Did anyone mention Mutable Instruments CV Pal? Turns most software sequencers on the Mac OS platform into cv/gate sequencers. For $60 and 45 minutes of your time. That’s a good deal.
