Yes, you can output the full range of Control Voltage (+/- 4.5V) from the Pure Data [sig~] object with a DC coupled audio interface attached to the computer.

I've given some thought to how I might use an ES8 to generate modulation in my video synth, but I don't currently have an ES8 or a computer in my studio. Linux driver for ES-8

Would the ES-8 work with all I/O channels on a current Linux kernel? It appears that there are some 8 channel USB 2.0 audio interfaces like the Maudio Fast Track Ultra that present all I/O to the kernel. This video looks like it shows this happening.

Pure Data, send a float between 1 and -1 to the [sig~] object and you'll get +/- 4.5V on any DC coupled audio interface.
