Re: What new booty did you buy?

Just picked up a Rossum Trident, Panharmonium, linneus, and pre ordered a mob of emus. Also a Pittsburgh 360 case. God damn is that thing big and unwieldy. Looks great, but heavy compared to my 7u Intellijels. Not sure if I like it yet. That's pretty deep. Do you have any other Rossum? I think the ...

Re: BASTL Cinnamon - Black, Blue, Wood differences?

Thanks guys. It sounds great, and I’m super happy with it... the change just took me by surprise is all.

It’s a great filter! I also have a WMD C4rbn on order. I’m excited to see if they play in the same space together.

BASTL Cinnamon - Black, Blue, Wood differences?

My BASTL Cinnamon arrived... black one. Quick question: why does the black version and the wood one have different knobs and jacks? Looks like mine has an FM input and only a pitch CV... the wood one has an attenuator and 2 CVs? I did a quick search of the forum, and saw a few folks saying it’s a re...

Best discontinued modules

Curious... what discontinued or unavailable modules do you guys covet, and why? With all the awesome new stuff coming out, are there modules that are no longer commercially available that you still feel hunger pangs for? Which modules did folks new to modular miss out on? Cmon, grandpa. Tell me abou...

Re: Advice on ways to rearrange my case

I’m still new at this, but here ya go: If your rack has at least 3 rows, ...it might make sense to put modules with jacks on the bottom only in the top row. Usually oscillators, filters, some mixers, etc. Modules with jacks all over the faceplate go in the middle. Usually modulation, clocking , Mult...

Re: First(ish) modular system: is this normal?

Update. I contacted Rossum, who very very friendly and helpful. Also appreciative that I was able to give them serial info and such to track em down. Unfortunately, Sweetwater estimated a month wait minimum to get my replacement unit. I went for a full refund, and will revisit sampling in the modula...

Re: First(ish) modular system: is this normal?

OK, we can at least rule out the "old Synthrotek power supply" thing. A lot of that sounds like physical damage, which is most unusual. I think I've only had one physically faulty new module ever. Other than potentially living in the catchment area of a particularly terrible set of courier depots, ...

Just out of interest, what is your case? It's highly unlikely that it's the problem, but I once briefly had a Pittsburgh Cell case and about half my modules that worked in other cases wouldn't work in it at all.
Using 2 Intellijel 7u 104hp cases with the joiner plate.

Re: First(ish) modular system: is this normal?

That sucks. I think you need to make some serious amends with your UPS/FedEx/USPS guys. Do you have a mean dog or something? Nope. I have a very happy standard poodle, and a wonderful cat that likes patch cables. However, I did notice that the FedEx/UPS guys in my area never ask for signatures, eve...

Re: First(ish) modular system: is this normal?

I've accumulated ~80 modules over the years from different shops (control/analoguehaven/sweetwater/vintageking/detroitmodular) from a lot of the same mfg you mentioned (intellijel, xaoc, wmd, rossum). I've only had one issue, the encoder on metropolis was flaky. fwiw, sweetwater immediately mailed ...

First(ish) modular system: is this normal?

Long story short: I just got my hands on a new modular system after a long hiatus. Of the 20 or so modules I’ve ordered, more than I expected are faulty. Yes, I double and triple checked all power connections and cables. Nothing wrong there. Also, it’s being used in a commercial studio with a separa...

Re: And the world's Sexiest Module is...

The old Wiard synth system modules. That blue and the gargoyles, and how the modules look together. Slender and mysterious and the lights! Gorgeous. The Wiard modular system is the system I drooled over as a young teenager. I still think it’s the most beautiful modular synth ever made. Also, the mod...

Re: MORDAX : DATA - Now available for pre-order

Thanks guys. I’m happy to wait for one... but 4 shops in, and no one is willing to even pre-order it.

I’m on the mailing list, so hopefully I get lucky and can make it into the next batch of pre-orders directly on the Mordax site.

Re: MORDAX : DATA - Now available for pre-order

I’ve been searching all over trying to find where to buy one.

I’ve even had 2 shops tell me they stopped working with Mordax due to lack of communication/orders being delayed over and over again.

Who stocks these? Which shops have been getting them? How the hell can I get one?

Instruo — Premium What makes it Premium? I know people currently rave about them, but I don't belive the hype. While I do like their HR Giga style, the mini-trimmer-knobs and faders and wild combinations of functions holds me off. Are their designs made by themselfs or are they copys of vintage cir...

With so many of the makers on here, it would be cool hearing how they view their and other brands.

Either way, I’m having a lot of fun reading the responses.
